According to the latest statistics from the World Economic Forum, between 75 and 199 million tons of plastic are currently floating in our oceans, most of which originates on land. By capturing this material for recycling, we can reduce pollution and ensure valuable resources are used again and again as part of the circular economy. Our bronze partner at #ESGAdria2024, TOMRA Collection Srbija, knows how to tackle packaging waste. TOMRA’s reverse vending solutions collect over 45 billion used bottles and cans every year all across the globe, significantly reducing resource demand and minimising the trash that makes its way into our oceans, streets, rivers, and landfills. TOMRA Collection Serbia is a part of TOMRA, the global technology leader that provides solutions for enabling the circular economy with advanced collection and sorting systems, and food processing by employing sensor-based sorting and grading technology. Altogether, TOMRA has approximately 105,000 installations in over 100 markets worldwide. Through its solutions, TOMRA is transforming how we all obtain, use, and reuse the planet’s resources to enable a world without waste. TOMRA’s solutions help address sustainability challenges related to resource scarcity and depletion, unsustainable consumption, climate change, urbanisation, and waste in nature. For TOMRA, sustainability is about maximising the positive impact enabled through their solutions, while reducing any negative environmental and social impacts from their operations or value chains. We express our sincerest gratitude to them for joining us in Tivat and bringing their reverse vending machines to aid us in minimising the waste at our event!! Join us on 24-26th of April. It’s time to Get in the Loop! 👉 summit.esgadria.org ESG Adria Summit is organised by Sustineri Partners and Porto Montenegro, in partnership with the Government of Montenegro and under the auspices of the President of Montenegro. #TOMRA #ESG #ESGAdria #SustainabilityChampions #Recycling

🌱 Embracing Sustainability, One Sip at a Time! 🌱 I'm excited to see companies like Agthia Group PJSC leading the way toward a sustainable future! Their Al Ain water bottle, made entirely from 100% plant-based sources, is a tremendous step forward for the UAE’s environmental goals. It’s a commitment to reducing plastic waste and fostering a circular economy. We're always better off refilling a reusable water bottle whenever possible, but sometimes we might not have one handy. In those moments, choosing a sustainable option like Agthia’s plant-based bottles helps reduce our footprint. It’s an excellent reminder that small daily choices add up to big changes. ♻️🌍💧 Sustainability is more than a choice; it’s a lifestyle! Let’s support and celebrate companies that prioritize our planet by rethinking traditional products. Together, we can create a greener, cleaner future! 🌍✨ #Sustainability #Agthia #PlantBased #CircularEconomy #EcoFriendly #GreenFuture #UAE #SustainableLiving

There is already a lot of plastic, and it is not going anywhere! As we prepare for Dashain shopping, remember: 4.8 million plastic bags are used in Kathmandu every day! One plastic bag takes 500 years to biodegrade, contaminating our water, soil, and air while worsening the climate crisis. Plastic waste harms aquatic species and can even be found in human blood. This Dashain, let’s choose to use reusable bags and reduce plastic pollution for a healthier planet! Project CAP is funded by the PLEASE (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia), implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, supported by The World Bank and with implementing support from UNOPS. #CREASION #TowardsSustainability #BetterWorld #environment #Nepal #ProjectCAP #CleanNepal #SustainableFuture #EnvironmentalEducation #GreenWarriors #saynotoplasticbags

🌿 Transforming Lives Through Sustainable Mobility: The Electric Tricycle Initiative in Fortaleza Brazil 🌿 Through the innovative RE-CICLO project, traditional hand-pulled carts used by waste pickers are being replaced by electric tricycles. This simple yet powerful change is improving the working conditions for catadores, enhancing their dignity and income while contributing to a cleaner environment. What is it? Fortaleza is among the top recycling cities in Brazil, yet the recycling rate stands at only 9%. Waste collectors are essential in this network, contributing to 90% of recyclable materials collected. However, they still live on the margins and require better working conditions. Did you know that the Deposit Return System launched in Lithuania in 2016 is considered one of the best in the world? The DRS led to the recovery of 70% of drink containers in the first year and 90% in the second year. A significant number of the collected PET bottles is sent to the GreenTech recycling facility in Lithuania, where they are processed into flakes to reuse them into the circular economy. This system promotes responsible recycling practices and ensures that valuable materials are kept in circulation, contributing to waste reduction and supporting sustainable initiatives.♻️ At GreenTech we drive recycling forward!
