📣 Encouraging news to hear the #AntwerpDeclaration has now reached over 1000 organisations committed to supporting Cefic's call for a #EuropeanIndustrialDeal. It is now supported by 25 different sectors across Europe. This deal will complement the Green Deal and keep high-quality jobs in Europe. With an urgent need for clarity, predictability, and confidence in Europe and its industrial policy, it's essential to support our industry for their innovation capacity to come up with tomorrow's climate solutions. Belgian PM #AlexanderDeCroo emphasised the importance of Europe remaining a powerhouse of industrial production, not just innovation. 🌐 Accelerated industry investments are crucial, along with competitive energy, improved infrastructure, fair competition, strong public funding for clean technology deployment and more circular economy solutions that foster a market for net-zero, that is supported by a smarter more streamlined regulatory framework. This need is paramount, especially during the severe economic downturn in a decade faced by both large companies and SMEs. 🍃 Let's hope more organisations will commit to make Europe an industrial & innovation hub to help meet climate neutrality by 2050. Enabling the decarbonisation of industries and thereby societies as a whole through electrification is an integral part of Fortum’s strategy. Hence, we have today, together with Eurelectric and the Eurelectric Presidency team, signed up for the Antwerp Declaration calling for clarity, predictability, and confidence in Europe’s industrial policy. Decarbonisation and competitiveness of manufacturing industries must go hand in hand, and we welcome an EU Industrial Deal to complement the EU Green Deal, encourage the decarbonisation of industries and strengthen value chains within the EU. I am keen to work alongside Eurelectric and other utilities to intensify our collaboration with energy-intensive sectors. Our goal is to speed up the electrification and decarbonisation of industrial processes, support Europe’s competitiveness, and bring everybody on board with the EU’s climate ambition. #IndustrialDeal
📢 We are proud to join the Antwerp Declaration, aligning with our commitment to help our industrial customers thrive and decarbonise their processes in a reliable and profitable way through stable and clean power supply. The Antwerp Declaration urges governments and EU bodies to adopt clear, predictable industrial policies, emphasising actions to boost competitiveness, preserve jobs, and enhance the sustainability and resilience of European industry. It aligns with the European Green Deal's climate objectives, highlighting the urgency amid economic challenges. We believe that successful decarbonisation of our societies will indeed provide broader benefits and opportunities than outright mitigation of carbon emissions. In addition to helping Europe to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, it will create a competitive advantage for clean products and thereby strengthen Europe’s resilience while cleaning our industries. It will also increase energy independence and reinforce Europe’s security. Hence, we stand with Eurelectric and other utilities in expressing our support for maintaining a robust, competitive, and sustainable industrial sector in Europe. https://lnkd.in/e8iqT6E2 #IndustrialDeal

BIC signed the Antwerp Declaration. Establishing new value chains and making industrial processes greener with EU innovations will ultimately strengthen the EU’s industrial competitiveness. With a stronger political commitment to the green transition, a circular bioeconomy can help to reduce the EU’s dependency on fossil resources and enhances strategic autonomy. #GreenTransition #CircularEconomy #SustainableDevelopment 👉 https://lnkd.in/e8iqT6E2

Feeling optimistic after last week's Industry Summit in Antwerp, where 72 industry leaders (including some of Pacific International Executive Search's clients) and 34 associations converged to sculpt the future of the Chemical & Material Science sector across Europe. Here's a sneak peek at the pivotal insights poised to shape our regional landscape across Europe: ▫ Strategic Integration: Embedding the Industrial Deal into Europe's strategic agenda sets the stage for a robust industrial future. ▫ Clean Tech Empowerment: A Clean Tech Deployment Fund ignites clean technology investment, fostering job creation within Energy Intensive Industries. ▫ Energy Innovation: Prioritizing affordable, low-carbon energy projects and fostering cross-border partnerships herald a sustainable energy revolution. ▫ Infrastructure Investment: Targeted funds fortify crucial energy, digital, and recycling infrastructures while addressing workforce shortages. ▫ Raw Materials Security: Scaling up domestic mining, sustainable processing, and forging global partnerships to secure vital supplies. ▫ Consumer Empowerment: Empowering consumers to choose net-zero and circular products expands market access and drives sustainability. ▫ Regulatory Facilitation: Streamlined regulations and enhanced enforcement bolster integrated value chains and energy markets. ▫ Innovation Drive: Prioritizing high-quality science, digitalization, and IP protection fuels innovation across industries. ▫ Investment Incentives: Creating incentives for clean technology investments ensures alignment with legislative coherence. ▫ Leadership Alignment: Appointing a First Vice-President synchronizes industrial legislation with the European Commission's agenda, ensuring seamless integration. These pledges serve as a beacon of hope, offering invaluable insights into building a sustainable framework that propels the European industrial economy towards unprecedented growth in addition to generating massive opportunities for our workforce. I wholeheartedly embrace this proposal as a catalyst for driving positive change together. 🌍At the European Industry Summit in Antwerp, 70+ CEOs within more than 17 sectors presented the 'Antwerp Declaration for a European Industrial Deal' to leaders like Belgian PM De Croo & EU President von der Leyen. 📜The declaration - which we support - aims for a sustainable industrial shift & urgent support for European industry investments. It outlines 10 actions, including a European Industrial Deal and addressing overregulation, increase the EU’s raw materials security, and boost demand for net zero, low carbon and circular products. Our CEO Paul De Bruycker says the following: "Decarbonization yes, deindustrialization no, that is the challenge for Europe. It is possible if we complement the green deal with an industry deal to keep our industry competitive in a fast changing world. No time to loose."
