🌎 Pact for the Future: A Global Commitment to Accelerate Progress Toward the SDGs The Pact of the Future, endorsed by Heads of State and Government at the UN General Assembly in September 2024, reaffirms the commitment to accelerate progress in implementing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Action #34 sets a key goal: to ensure that all young people have equitable access to essential services such as health, education, and social protection, enabling them to reach their full potential. This action emphasizes achieving universal health coverage and ensuring that every young person achieves the highest possible level of physical and mental health, including access to immunization, vaccination, and sexual and reproductive health. Focusing on reducing inequalities and protecting the most vulnerable communities, the Pact drives us to build resilient, sustainable, and equitable health systems. Initiatives such as EWEC-LAC contribute to boosting health equity in Latin America. Learn more about the Pact for the Future: https://bit.ly/3Cz9hLh Foto: UNICEF

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) 2024 report, "Interwoven Lives, Threads of Hope," emphasizes the urgent need to end inequalities in #SRHR and why the world must recommit to accelerating progress. Despite notable progress—such as a significant decline in global maternal mortality and increased access to contraceptives—persistent disparities remain, especially among the most marginalized. This landmark report reveals that while healthcare access has improved overall, those most marginalized see the least benefit, highlighting a critical area for action. As we mark the 30th anniversary of the #ICPD, the call is clear: We must dismantle systemic barriers and prioritize the health and rights of the most vulnerable. The report calls for data-driven and inclusive healthcare reforms to ensure that no one is left behind. Let's unite to advocate for policies that address these critical inequalities and support a healthier, more equitable world. Following the International Day of Action for Women's Health, I'm thinking disparities and the gender gap in health need to go up in political agendas. This is not only about invisible diseases but overlooked diagnosis and often more limited access to care for women. Let’s make this a priority.
