Ten Years Ago Today, We Opened Our Doors to a Journey of Change! 🚀 As we celebrate 10 years at Fairagora Asia, we’re reminded that this milestone extends beyond our journey. It represents the enduring partnerships, shared purpose, and profound dedication that have collectively shaped who we are today. From our earliest days, our objective has been to make a meaningful impact in #sustainabilityconsulting and #agriculturalsustainability across Southeast Asia. It’s been a decade of listening, learning, and collaborating with #stakeholders to share our vision for a more #sustainable world. Along the way, we’ve worked closely with farmers, communities, and organizations to create positive, measurable change. Together, we’ve advanced practices in #GHG emissions reduction and environmental consulting, supported communities through agriculture risk management and data analysis for agriculture, and strengthened regional resilience through supply chain management and social impact consulting. These initiatives reflect our commitment to real, enduring progress—one that respects both people and the environment. We would like to take this opportunity to share some of the highlights from a decade of growth. 📈 🌱 Empowering Farmers: We’ve developed #trainingprograms that help reduce GHG emissions and improve sustainable #farmingpractices , equipping farmers with the tools to tackle today’s environmental challenges. Our work in #regenerativeagriculture and agricultural sustainability consulting supports local livelihoods while fostering healthier ecosystems. 🤝 Strengthening Partnerships: Through thoughtful #partnerships, we’ve led multi-stakeholder projects in agricultural sustainability, creating frameworks for sustainability risk assessments that prioritize ethical standards, transparency, and shared responsibility. 🏘️ Empowering Communities: Our initiatives have included social improvement training for #migrantworkers in agriculture and data-driven environmental monitoring for sustainable farming. These efforts help communities face the challenges of #climatechange with greater resilience, contributing to stronger, more sustainable futures. As we look ahead, our commitment remains grounded in the values of #collaboration, #adaptability, and meaningful #impact. We are eager to continue our efforts in creating positive change across various areas of sustainability. This anniversary celebrates the relationships and shared values that motivate us to drive change and create value in everything we do.

Last week I was as sectoraccount Agrofood & Horticulture on the road in #Denmark with a group of Dutch policy makers and food-companies to be inspired by the Danish actions on stimulating the transition to more #sustainable #proteins. The #proteintransition is an important part of the transition to more sustainable #foodsystems. The Danish and Dutch can inspire each other in how to bring this transition further, because we are on the same path, but have a slightly different approach. We share the responsibility to stimulate sustainable food for all and ensure a liveable planet. A difference with the Netherlands is that Denmark does not focus directly on fewer animals/less meat production, but mainly on an increase in the share of organic food (production). In doing so, they bring a more positive message of healthier food and making food production more sustainable. It is a more holistic approach and message of health, sustainability and climate improvement. Instead of the stick, the carrot is used to entice both the consumer and the producer to make conscious choices. Plans and agreements are made in which all stakeholders are involved. E.g. also the Ministry of Health. In Denmark, stakeholders have a basic attitude to come around the table together with all parties, to build bridges and to connect. The approach of challenges from a larger perspective like foodtransition may increase understanding and support and evoke less resistance. It enlarges/creates more space, allowing new solutions and possibilities to arise. We visited the Foodexpo in Herning, Audu - by PlanetDairy, Arla Foods, Center for Innovation in Aarhus - CFIA, the new factory of Meelunie GPI A/S, FoodNation and the Ministery of Agriculture. A lot of connections were made and we have explored collaborations with Danish food-companies. With cross-border partnerships we can accelerate the transition together.

🌍 Sustainability in Agribusiness: Profitable for All In our pursuit of sustainability, every supply chain link must thrive, not just survive. Our recent visit to Coacen and Cooavil in Brazil showcased how cooperatives are making this a reality. These forward-thinking groups empower farmers by boosting their bargaining power and cutting costs, ensuring sustainability benefits everyone. 🔗 Unity for Sustainable and Equitable Growth Coacen and Cooavil exemplify how collaboration leads to substantial gains for the environment and the economy. By pooling resources, these cooperatives enable producers to access better markets and adopt advanced sustainable practices, ensuring profitability and environmental stewardship go hand in hand. This model offers a viable path to sustainability supporting every stakeholder in the chain. 🌱 A Blueprint for Future Success The initiatives by Coacen and Cooavil are pivotal in showing how sustainable practices integrate seamlessly into existing agricultural frameworks, helping decarbonize the global supply chain while boosting farmer incomes. Their commitment provides a blueprint for other agribusinesses aiming to balance ecological responsibility with economic needs. 🙏 Obrigado to Our Gracious Hosts We're immensely grateful to Coacen - Cooperativa Agropecuária e Industrial Celeiro do Norte and COOAVIL COOPERATIVA AGROPECUARIA TERRA VIVA for their hospitality and enlightening us on their impactful work. Their example inspires us at Marvin to continue developing tools that aid in crafting a sustainable, profitable future for all in the agricultural sector. hashtag #Sustainability #MarvinMT #Agribusiness #ClimateTech #EUDR #Decarbonization

Last week I attended the Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity celebration event (thanks Sara Pais for the invitation). It was a privilege to listen to speakers such as Angela Merkel (president of the jury) and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa (president of Portugal), but also exciting to see regenerative agriculture being at the core of the winners’ selection. Coincidentally (or not), the winning project of the Hult Prize Portugal 2024 (of which I was part of the jury) was also centred on sustainable agriculture. Many of the projects I was involved in for the last few years had a strong component of restoring ‘land-health’, posing important systemic questions: - How to create a climate smart forest economy that protects and supports nature and livelihoods? (with Marshall Clemens and Jess Hewitt from Nexial, and Robyn van den Heuvel and the CSFEP team) - How to best engage institutional stakeholders to drive equitable and sustainable agricultural development in Africa? (with Tess Russo from the Gates Foundation, Claire Vintiner from Fresh Futures, Titilope Fakoya and Soyome Alemayehu) - How to transform the fashion value chain in a way that regenerates the land where materials come from, involving local communities and creating a sense of identity between users and places of origin? (with Nick Keppel-Palmer and mandar jayawant from the Good Growth Company) - How to foster deep transitions from our current systems, with food systems being one of the pillars? (with Samantha Veide and the team at Forum for the Future). With the risk of stating the obvious, soil health is fundamental to producing good food, fibres, forests… and storing carbon. And we have all heard that monoculture and use of excessive chemicals are not good for the soil, in the same way that lack of variety in our diets and excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods are not good for us. So it’s encouraging to see these two prizes recognising projects that have been advancing regenerative agriculture, and working towards a healthier and more equitable tomorrow. #agriculture #regeneration #sustainability #systemchange
