Through our "Fedrigoni for" initiative, we are honored to support projects that drive meaningful change and make a lasting impact in the communities around us. In 2024, we’ve partnered with KEDV, an NGO focused on empowering low income women in Turkey, and we’re excited to share the inspiring story of Betül, a dedicated member of the Kahramanmaraş Cooperative. Through the cooperative, women in the region are finding not just skills and opportunities but also a lifeline of solidarity and strength. “A world cannot exist without the presence of women” Betül says, as she calls for support to uplift the women of Maraş. Her message transcends borders, reminding us all that change begins with collective action. Click here to watch all Betül’s video https://lnkd.in/dmVeWPfS

“Empower. I don’t like that word. Women have inherent power. We just need to ignite them.” - Angela Nguku, Founder and Executive Director, White Ribbon Alliance Kenya Words matter. During today’s Devex MSD for Mothers panel, I was reminded once again why they matter. Women don’t need to be given power because they already have it. Instead, we need the world to listen to powerful women and respond by taking action. Through AMPATH Global and AMPATH Kenya, we are focused on igniting the power of all people by supporting priorities in the communities where we work and responding by connecting resources (people, training, research, etc.) to support those priorities.

Using your platform and showcasing other successful initiatives, sharing other women's triumphs, and highlighting the progress and achievements of women lead entities is the ultimate force of empowerment. When we unite for a cause and coincide for a better country we believe in, success is in the horizons. Bridging successful stories in the Lebanese diaspora with entrepreneurs in Lebanon, facilitating export of Lebanese products ( rather than exporting human resources and youth) is a stepping stone. Clustering women led efforts and creating a lobby of progressive thinkers and Policy advisers is a stepping stone. Yes we can create a difference, together we can!

When we think about "heritage', we often limit that scope to familial lineage or ethic origins. Being of mixed race, and having been raised by my unmarried mother and maternal family allowed me to think quite deeply about heritage and this processing has led me to some personal conclusions and convictions. There is 1 race - the human race. The human experience is enriched by the diversity of ethnic groups and the variety of cultures. Because the human race, birthed by the divine and supreme will of God - the Sovereign Creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:26), every human being on the face of this planet is valuable and precious, endowed with purpose and capability to execute that purpose - having been made in the image and likeness of God. Every human being is a whole person that has a space or 'void' that God intentionally built into them so that they would innately be aware of their need for Him and therefore seek Him, the True & Living Triune God-head. The construct of Divine Identity is far more anchoring than earthly heritage especially for the masses of human beings who come from families where lineage continuity has been hampered for various reasons. For example, in our home province (Eastern Cape - forner Transkei), many children were born in the context of illegitimate relationships between European settlers and unmarried Xhosa and Khoisan women - so the conundrum there is legitimate humans/destinies arriving on a legitimate planet, under illegitimate circumstances. The good news for that guess work is that, regardless of ethic mix and circumstances, we ALL exist by the divine will of the Sovereign Creator. I believe that this resolve should anchor people pre cradle to post grave (through Christ). Life is not linear and that means that each human being shows up on earth (with a purpose to seek, obey, and reflect God), but each path is distinctively different and dynamic (with highs, lows, twists, and turns). You will notice that in my story I capture my familial aspects, but I include significant events and moments that were facilitated by special people who facilitated them. I mention: Port Shepstone High School educators Busisiwe. M Madikizela-Theu (a friend since high school) and Dr. Talifhani KHUBANA PhD, MBA, CFO(SA), CPA(SA), GTP(SA) Khubana and their role in my higher education journey Durban Christian Centre, and how its gospel-centred work impacted my early spiritual formation How the written works of Dr Conrad Mbewe, Dr Voddie Bauchum, and Dr Myles Munroe shaped my mindset and mission today My encouragement to you this Heritage Day, fill in the gaps of uncertainty by taking stock of God's providence during your life's journey. Focus a little more on who stepped in and a little less on who left or who was missing - those elements were and still are out of your control. You matter. You have value. Your heritage is deeper, wider, higher, and more transcendent than you have considered. Happy #HeritageDay 🥳

Within our organization, we place great importance on the well-being of our team. Why are these moments of relaxation so essential to us? Simply because we firmly believe that strengthening our bonds of friendship and feeling valued and respected by one another is crucial for our individual and collective growth. We aspire for our workplace to be much more than a mere chore. We strive to create a true family, a place where each person can express their negative or positive emotions and let them dissipate in a safe and trusting environment. These moments of relaxation are specifically designed with this in mind. We have observed that these breaks and sharing sessions are incredibly beneficial. They allow us to recharge, strengthen our connections, and foster a positive dynamic within our team. We are convinced that these moments of relaxation are a valuable investment for our network. By reinforcing our solidarity and mutual support, we increase our productivity and our ability to inspire change. We will continue organizing these moments of relaxation and ensure that every member of the network feels valued, supported, and fulfilled. Because we firmly believe in the power of female solidarity and the importance of taking care of ourselves in order to better care for others.
