In my humble (cough) opinion, you don't need loyal employees, you need engaged employees. Nothing will crush employee performance, retention, and workplace culture quicker than a disengaged team member. If/when this happens, I agree that the question is the answer. I am LOVING this resource compiled by David Zinger (I see you too Deri Latimer & Denise Bissonnette!). I think it is especially helpful for managers and new leaders who are feeling overwhelmed by a very long list of expectations these days. Managing people is hard. Reflecting on these questions and inviting mentors, leaders and employees to be a part of the conversation, however, could be a first step.
