I frequently receive questions about the effect of chlorhexidine gluconate on the bonding of adhesive systems. Yes, it can indeed negatively affect bonding of the self-etch adhesive systems depending on the material used. This is because chlorhexidine can compete with the functional monomers. It is better to use chlorhexidine in low concentrations with self-etch adhesives. Below, I am sharing our study on this topic.

What’s under the name of REVA BF? RCN has been distributing REVA BF for more than ten years now. Chemical formula by RCN, it took some years to reach the balance adhesion/transparency based on test of different ingredients in addition to Ethylene Vinyl Acetate, supplied by an international chemical company, such as Dupont. Taking quality for granted, the side job is to assist customers. Thou, the most part of them are more experienced than us in lamination, they need our cooperation in case of bad issues or lamination with other special materials. Bad issues are part of a sensitive subject and we pull of all our energy to help the customer to identify the problem. The most part of them are due to some omissions in preparation or uncorrected evaluation of the quality of the tempering requiring more or less layers of laminating film, and other small precautions that helps to prevent imperfections. It means we work to offer a guideline, allowing the customers to work in total confidence and expect zero defects, which is our main target and campaign. But it is not enough, our commitment for maximize the value of our product is a big focus. Having increased production of REVA BF of 30% along this year, we have improved our buying power on the market of raw materials and actions and promotions will follow by this Fall. Most of all, the choice to work with an RCN turn-key laminating system which includes kiln, Reva BF, RD CLEAN CONCEPT and together with other optional and our instructions, allows simple and correct lamination procedures. #rcnsolutions #revabf #thinkingclearer
