As always, great thoughts from Bruce Booth of Atlas Venture https://lnkd.in/dewT7jdy And it's so important to focus on early quality of team, science and initial data set (not excluding reasonable valuations and lean cap table)

💼 Last Saturday, I had the privilege of attending the esteemed London Venture Capital Network Summit. The event proved to be an invaluable opportunity to gain insights into the latest trends and developments shaping the industry. 🚀 💡 While all the talks and the startup pitch competition were highly informative and inspirational, the true highlight was the Gen AI Debate. The distinguished panel, comprising Thelma Onyeka from Akama Fund, Nic Rawhani from Vula, David Calderwood from RED Semiconductor, and Jonny Rose from The Story Club Ltd., provided a wealth of knowledge and thought-provoking perspectives on the current state and future trajectory of Gen AI. Furthermore, they engaged in a compelling discourse surrounding the role of intellectual property (IP) in protecting solutions in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. 🔐 📹 One of the standout moments was Nic Rawhani's eloquent and lucid explanation of how we have arrived at the precipice of Gen AI. I have taken the liberty of attaching the video clip, as I believe it will resonate with many of you. 🤝 At BeeReal, we pride ourselves on staying ahead of the curve, continuously enhancing our expertise to better serve our esteemed clientele. As the Venture Capital ecosystem navigates the complexities and embraces the opportunities presented by disruptive technologies like Gen AI, we stand ready to support them in evolving into the next generation of sustainable internal solutions. #VentureCapital #DigitalTransformation #BeeReal #GenAI #Innovation #TechTrends

Latest essay is up! "Developing The Problem-Focused Founder" TLDR: Science hasn’t fully learned from startups yet, and I think there is an opportunity to add a third path to the existing duopoly of startups and academia. Main takeaway: What if science funding could move as fast as VC? We want to build a repeatable format of non-dilutively support early-stage science teams to steer directly into science risk. I present a first model of a growth curve: startups are just "up and to the right" but problem-focused teams have a slightly different step through milestones. https://lnkd.in/d8ZXgRsv

Investing in deep tech can transform industries and address global challenges—but only if it’s done with a true long-term vision. At Aventurine Capital Group, we focus on nurturing early-stage IP to its full potential, not just bringing one innovation to market but optimizing foundational technologies across industries. Our perpetual fund model supports deep tech investments over the long haul, ensuring that IP is actively managed and developed into revenue-generating assets.
