Last night was very humbling. I had the opportunity to return to the place that gave me the tools to restart my life, and I will forever be grateful for that. Since it is Movember, which focuses on Mens Health, I have a story to share. I recently passed the 6yr mark of sobriety, but it felt a bit different this year. The first 5 years of sobriety, I took it very seriously and put all my effort into changing my frame of mind from very negative to positive. After receiving my 5-year medallion last year, things changed. I started taking every aspect of my life for granted because my life on paper looked great. I didn't take my sobriety and spirituality serious, my ego was telling me, "Jeff, you don't need that anymore. You got this." I was isolating myself and didn't reach out to my positive influences, which led to months of depression and recently planning my demise. Normal people would say, "You have a great life, how could you be depressed?" I suffer from depression because I'm not one of the normal people. I've suffered from depression since I was 13 years old, but fortunately, I now have the tools to recover. I share this because many men don't have the tools available. Please, if you're suffering inside, make a call and talk to someone. It may save your life. Take care of yourselves. 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline #mensmentalhealth #sobriety #Movember #recovery #depression
Last night, it was an honor for Klass Drywall to attend Westover Treatment Centre's Thursday Night Meet & Greet. We were proud to present them with a donation raised through our second annual Golf Tournament, and we’re grateful to see how our community continues to come together for such an important cause. Klass Drywall President, Jeff Pomietlarz, also had the privilege of speaking at the event, where he shared his personal experiences and offered words of hope and encouragement to those in attendance. It was a truly inspiring evening, and we’re thankful to be part of a network that supports healing and growth. #GivingBack #CommunitySupport #KlassDrywallinc #WestoverTreatmentCentre #HopeInAction #construction

"We need something to celebrate 10k followers." - "OK." 💬 And that's how the campaign began. I was handed a task—and given the freedom to make the most of it. For me, this was the key moment. Sure, I could have gone with a video, a raffle, a message from our CEO and CFO, or even some voices from our colleagues. But instead, I decided to aim high. I pitched the idea to use our reach for a good cause and asked for a budget I had never dared to request before. Everything moved quickly—green lights all the way. I had full support, and my team lead and area lead advocated for the campaign from the start. ✨🌟✨ The takeaway? This is where I belong. I love working at XXXLdigital – Part of XXXL Group because it allows me to try something new, big, or bold. Sometimes I get stopped (which I actually appreciate!), sometimes I’m asked to make changes, but most of the time, I get to turn ideas into real projects. #XXXLspirit #XXXLdigital #mindset
What an achievement! For the last 14 days our LinkedIn feeds have been filled with red chairs of all shapes, forms, and sizes... 🪑 We are proud to see our colleagues joining in and very grateful that many of our great partners have participated to raise money for SOS-Kinderdorf Österreich. A huge THANK YOU to our LinkedIn community, colleagues, partners and everyone who supported the campaign. We are truly humbled by your support! When we say #10KforGood, we mean #10kforGood - we decided to match the donations made through the posts to a total of 10.000 €. ✨🌟✨ We are very proud to donate this amount to SOS-Kinderdorf Österreich and support the project “Mädchenwohnen Graz NEU”. This building project will create a safe space for girls who have experienced a serious crisis and are in desperate need of a place where they can feel understood, protected and safe. We are thankful to be able to support this important project. 🙏💛🏡 #10KforGood #XXXLdigitalchairity #XXXLspirit #XXXLdigital Photo credits: Antonia Knall

Our Adopted Chairty THE GAME is an incredible cause which addresses a deeply important and often overlooked topic. THE GAME portrays the physical and emotional challenges faced by families with a disabled and chronically ill parent, particularly when the child takes on the role of carer. The team has successfully raised £10,850 in their initial crowdfunding phase, which has funded basic production needs and helped forge vital partnerships with charities. This milestone also saw the birth of a supportive community, many of whom have personal connections to chronic illness. Now, they are embarking on the next critical phase of fundraising for: Post-production: Ensuring the film is completed to the highest standard. Accessibility: Providing additional measures to support disabled team members. Outreach: Bringing young carers onto the set to offer them a unique and enriching experience. Distribution: Facilitating community screenings and events with charity partners to maximize the film's impact. Released just ahead of #BlackHistoryMonth, the latest report from the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy shows how racially discriminatory, exclusive, and exploitative practices contributed to the building of wealth in the DMV and offers a framework for foundations to address their own history and "repair, heal and restore local communities harmed by the actions and decisions that created charitable wealth." Developed with funding from if, A Foundation for Radical Possibility, the report focuses on four sectors--media, housing, employment, and healthcare--and includes case studies of eight foundations. As a member of the LandAid Tech Network Steering Group, I’m proud to be supporting the property industry charity at this year’s UK PropTech Awards! If you’re a tech company or tech professional in a real estate company, you can help make an impact by joining LandAid’s Tech Network and supporting in a number of ways… 1) Get involved in fundraising events: start-ups know how to put good team work and collaboration to use to create fast growing businesses. Why not channel that experience and team commarady by taking part in events and activities run by LandAid and help raise funds for the worthy cause. 2) Utilise your tech and data expertise to offer pro-bono support: we know that data and technology is critical to solving the property industry’s challenges, it’s also important to understand and tackle the growing problem of youth homelessness! 3) Donate directly to the charity: at the awards this year you will see a number of QR codes around the venue. So when you’re getting your drinks at the bar, make sure to scan the QR code and donate. (Don’t worry we’ve got you covered for your first few drinks!) To find out more about the network, reach out or contact the LandAid team at technetwork@landaid.org

I’m going to do something I don’t usually do. I’m going to try and tug your heartstrings to separate you from your cash. Many of you know that I’m a Scout volunteer in our local village. Our much-loved hut had to be demolished last month, having reached the end of its life. So we want to raise money to get a new one. But why should you fork out for this? Why is this cause more deserving than any of the myriad others that you’re asked to contribute to? Well, I think that a fit-for-purpose community facility has an impact by stealth. It isn’t a here-today gone-tomorrow kind of project. It can be a focal point and haven for a whole village, over many years – our previous building was in use from 1976, and saw generations of Scouts, Guides, playgroups, Sunday Schools, kids’ parties and many others under its roof. A properly-designed building that’s pleasant to use also attracts more volunteers, which means that more people can benefit from activities held there. Obviously, Scouts and Guides are open to every child, no matter what their circumstances. But I think they are particularly valuable for the neurodivergent kids who perhaps struggle to access other activities – something I have personal experience of. One of my proudest moments was presenting the Chief Scout’s Bronze award to a lad who’d previously been asked to leave other after-school clubs. So, to prove how much I personally care about this, I am going to put myself through 100km of non-stop misery, along the Thames Path. I'm fat and middle-aged with a dodgy knee, so it's not going to be easy. But if it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing, right? I have 705 connections on LinkedIn. If everyone donated just £1, that would take us a long way forward, and would take my mind off how much my legs are going to hurt at 78km. #Scouts #goodforyou https://lnkd.in/efR4urcE
