Green Machine Computers Ltd’s Post

We support people with unwanted tech; whether through IT repairs, support, donations or training 💻 Meet Leo, a student who comes to us for work experience once a fortnight. Leo was introduced to us through a partnered charity, Gecko Community. The aim of the partnership is to support neurodiverse young adults with training and soft skills development which will help them thrive. It's been about 9 months since Leo started his studies with us, and we can't believe how fast the time has gone and how far his development has come in that time. We're grateful to be a part of his journey as helping individuals like him is one of the best parts of the work we do. In the picture below you can see Leo with a laptop workstation. As part of his training with us, Leo helps our technicians diagnose computer issues, fix them, and get the machine back up and running again. Not only does this improve his technical skills, but it helps our tech team to refurbish more devices at a quicker rate - win-win! There are so many people out there who lack technical skills but make up for it in enthusiasm for the field. We love giving these people the opportunity to flourish. Technical skills can be taught, but passion and work ethic are much harder to instil in someone. Do you think more could be done by businesses to support individuals like Leo? #ProfessionalDevelopment #NeurodivergenceInTheWorkplace #AlternativeEducation
