🔬 A recent pre-print has been published on the long-term effects of rapamycin. This study is the first of its kind, where participants received weekly doses of 5 or 10 mg over 48 weeks and placebo groups for comparison. 💊 The results indicate that rapamycin holds promise in counteracting various aspects of age-related decline and enhancing overall health. Notably, the effects were found to be sex-dependent, showing the most benefit in women. 🙋♀️ The authors highlight that this is one of the first studies to present evidence that rapamycin can positively influence human longevity markers. They also stress the importance of individualized dosing to optimize outcomes. 💡 This research positions rapamycin as a potentially pivotal player in the future of longevity medicine—offering not just extended lifespan but improved quality of life. 💪 It is important to note that all these results come from a pre-print, so they might contain errors. It has yet to be evaluated by the medical community. Read the full article.👇 https://lnkd.in/d4VHPhGK #Longevity #Science #Health #Rapamycin

🔍 Addressing the Gender Gap in Chronic Health Conditions Women are disproportionately affected by chronic illnesses like Alzheimer’s, depression, and osteoporosis, alongside female-specific conditions such as endometriosis and pelvic floor disorders. Despite living longer on average, women often endure a diminished quality of life due to these chronic conditions. The lack of research into both biological and social factors contributes to misdiagnoses and inappropriate treatments, leading to poorer health outcomes and substantial societal costs. It's time to bridge this research gap and ensure that women's health receives the attention it deserves. By prioritizing gender-specific research, we can achieve better health outcomes and move closer to health equity! #WomensHealth #HealthEquity #ChronicConditions #Research #GenderEquality #femtech #femtechua #femtechukraine

“Convergent Science & Technology” talks. In other words, only with interdisciplinary collaborations, we can accomplish projects with promising results, capable of improving the public health. If you are curious about what I am emphasizing on, you are kindly invited to read our latest research article, the result of our interdisciplinary project conducted by our postdoc, Dr. Zahra Assadi, and valuable supervision of Dr. Elahe Masaeli. Thanks to all colleagues and collaborators in this masterpiece. In this work, we aimed to engineer an innovative guided bone regeneration (GBR) membrane with dual features, fostering dental bone growth while concurrently displaying antibacterial properties. This project addresses periodontal disease, which is a prevalent chronic condition that often results in the deterioration of dental bone structures and subsequent tooth loss, contributing to significant health complications in adults. Please feel free to read, share and comment on it. https://lnkd.in/dzd8mHHa #convergent_science #guided_bone_regeneration #dental_bone #periodontaldisease #antibacterial
