On the International Day for #BiologicalDiversity (tomorrow), we celebrate the rich tapestry of life that our planet supports. In 2021, to honor this day, #RegenerAction was born in Pollica, Cilento, a beacon of hope and a call to action for the regeneration of our ecosystems. This initiative, deeply rooted in the heart of the Mediterranean, embodies our mantra: IMAGINE - BELIEVE - ACT (cit Michiel Bakker). #IMAGINE a world where the soil thrives, marginal areas - precious caskets that still protect our vital resources - flourish, and traditional wisdom is valued. Integral ecological regeneration starts from the ground up, ensuring that our soil is healthy and capable of sustaining life. By promoting policies supporting marginal areas' development, we can unlock the potential of these often-overlooked regions, helping us to preserve and revitalize #livingheritages and ancient practices that have sustained communities for generations, merging them with modern sustainability efforts. #BELIEVE in the power of the integral ecological approach that integrates the complex system of One Health towards the Algorithm of longevity. This concept goes beyond the individual, linking human health with the health of animals, plants, and our shared environment. By fostering a deep connection with the natural world, we can enhance our well-being and ensure a healthier, more sustainable future for all. #ACT driven by the #goldenrule - with consciousness, empathy, gratitude, purpose and leadership, embracing the concept of Paideia – the holistic development of individuals who are not only knowledgeable but also virtuous citizens. Our team leaders are at the forefront of this movement, guiding us with their passion and commitment. They embody the spirit of #RegenerAction, driving initiatives that foster human development and leadership. None of this would be possible without our incredible group of people, friends and teammates, you have been the engine driving RegenerAction forward. Together, we are not just imagining a better world but believing in it and acting to make it a reality. As we celebrate #WorldBiodiversityDay, let us reaffirm our commitment to integral ecological regeneration. Let us continue to IMAGINE a world where biodiversity thrives, BELIEVE in the interconnectedness of all life, and ACT to make this vision a reality. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. B4B+Club | 📢 Today, CDC Biodiversité’s Business for Positive Biodiversity Club #B4BClub holds its international working group on biodiversity footprinting, with a focus on #NaturePositive and the possible contributions of companies to a nature positive future. 🌿 🔎 What is behind the nature positive concept? How can it be defined and how can businesses contribute to a nature positive future, in line with recommendations from key initiatives (TNFD, SBTN…) and the #GlobalBiodiversityFramework? How to measure the contributions of companies towards nature positive in a robust and integrated way? To what extent do companies already integrate this concept into their #biodiversitystrategy ? 🗣 After having the chance to hear Yann Verstraeten from ICF on the Align project’s ongoing work on nature positive, as well as Frank Hawkins from the IUCN & Hanh Nguyen from the World Economic Forum on their respective nature positive workstreams earlier in March, we are very excited to host Gavin Edwards from the Nature Positive Initiative & Denis GEFFROY & Chloé Milesi from Groupe L'OCCITANE for this new session. 📢 The #B4BClub is a network where you can join a community of practice, exchange & learn from other actors about their integration of biodiversity in their strategies, discuss hot topics such as nature positive or #biodiversitycredits, get insights on the #GlobalBiodiversityScore (GBS), our biodiversity footprinting tool, as well as regulation and reporting latest requirements #CSRD #SBTN #TNFD! 👉 To join the B4B+Club and the next 2024 working groups, contact us at b4bclub@cdc-biodiversite.fr #GlobalBiodiversityScore #biodiversity #biodiversityfootprint #nature #environment #naturepositive #biodiversitystrategy #COP16

Congratulations to the winners of the Innovate 4 Nature Award revealed today in Arles! 🎉 We are proud to be part of the selected solutions for the #I4NAward, and we wish the best of luck to all the innovators being recognized today for their nature-positive solutions. 🏆 Innovate 4 Nature - I4N purpose is to accelerate nature-positive solutions to transition towards a #regenerativeeconomy. It identifies transformative solutions spanning across: sustainable management of ecosystems, nature as infrastructure, productive & regenerative agriculture and circular nature-positive solutions. 🌍 700'000 Heures Impact regenerative hospitality solution, carried out for the design and implementation of regenerative programs by Diane Binder, founder and CEO of Regenopolis and co-founder of 700’000 heures Impact, has been selected as a groundbreaking solution harnessing the power of hospitality to contribute to the regeneration of local communities and surrounding natural ecosystems and to address the destructive effects of tourism on both the environment and local communities. ♻️ ⚠️ With 1.5 billion travellers visiting just 5% of the planet annually, #masstourism often results in #biodiversity erosion, environmental damage and cultural standardization.💥 🌿 Our approach uses micro-hospitality to regenerate ecosystems and local economies by restoring lands, fostering a local #bioeconomy, supporting #livelihoods, and preserving #culturalheritage. 🪴 How do we do this? By fostering the emergence of bio-businesses that utilize existing natural resources to offer sustainable, non-polluting, and non-land-degrading employment opportunities for local populations. Currently, we operate in Tizkmoudine, Morocco 🇲🇦, Tarapoto, Peru 🇵🇪, and soon in Oaxaca, Mexico 🇲🇽. 🌱 We are also honoured to be finalists for 2 other organizations: the Banque Interaméricaine de Développement Bio-Builders Lab; and Conservation, Food & Health Foundation awards (#GMAFoundations). Stay tuned, more to come soon! We hope to inspire more people to join us and collaborate on our innovative approach to #RegenerativeHospitality and #NaturePositive solutions. 🌍Together, we work towards solutions that engage #communities, foster ownership, and ensure development that respects planetary boundaries. 💡To know more, visit our NEW WEBSITE: https://lnkd.in/eyrcK8n3 #RegenerativeHospitality #Sustainability #NatureBasedSolutions #CircularEconomy #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityDevelopment #Biodiversity #ClimateAction #PlanetaryHealth World Economic Forum UpLink - World Economic Forum Restor G20 Global Land Initiative Banque Interaméricaine de Développement African Development Bank Group Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Bloomberg Philanthropies IKEA Foundation Mastercard Foundation Mirova Foundation UNESCO Global Environment Facility Anna Lindh Foundation Bezos Earth Fund The Long Run Forbes Bloomberg News https://lnkd.in/dxyF6C97

The Earthshot Prize Awards landed in Cape Town this year. The event had its high points but also left us with some hard questions about #balance, #authenticity, and #inclusivity. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 Celebrating African Ingenuity with two of this year’s five winners coming from Africa. #Kenya’sKeepItCool is tackling food waste with low-cost cooling for farmers, while Ghana’s #GreenAfricaYouthOrganisation is proving zero-waste solutions can be scalable and impactful. These innovations didn’t just shine a light on local brilliance—they offered global models for real change. 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 Hosting in Cape Town underscored Africa’s role in leading climate resilience and innovation. It was a strong statement: the future of sustainability must include, and indeed center, the Global South. 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Earthshot went all-in on star power and high-profile performances to draw global attention. We get it—spreading the sustainability message beyond the usual circles is essential. We need artists, influencers, and entertainers who can amplify the cause to new audiences. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 Optics vs. Substance... Let’s be honest: the balance was off. The spectacle—the "green carpet," the celebrity focus—sometimes overshadowed the real heroes of the event: the innovators driving change. Couldn’t we have had more time to delve into their stories and impact? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Yes, we need influencers to reach broader audiences. But was this an overcorrection? Experts in sustainability, conservation, and climate science were noticeably underrepresented. Can we find a middle ground where Earthshot is a true melting pot of innovation, authenticity, and popular culture? 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 Protests from South African fishermen excluded from the event reminded us of an uncomfortable truth: the people most directly impacted by environmental issues often don’t get a voice. If Earthshot is to live up to its promise, future events must prioritise engagement with local communities—not just as an afterthought but as a core principle. 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 Earthshot is uniquely positioned to redefine how we tackle climate change. But the path forward demands a careful balance: celebrating innovation while keeping the message sharp and inclusive. This isn’t about ditching the glamor entirely—it’s about ensuring the platform amplifies substance over spectacle. If Earthshot wants to lead, it must be the space where bold solutions, authenticity, and popular culture meet to drive meaningful change. #GCX #EarthShotPrize #WhatsNext
