HPL Technologies’ Post

It's no secret: Powder is critical for the coating process – its quality directly influences the final outcome. But achieving that ideal finish depends on much more than just the choice of powder material itself; factors like morphology, particle size distribution, storage conditions, and other variables all play their part. Key word: Sensitivity Analysis.   So, when exactly do specific powder properties start to impact the coating result? And what changes can lead to off-spec results?   Last week, our experts Dominik Dobrzanski and Johannes Schütz shared insights with the SHW Brake Systems GmbH and Pankl Racing Systems' team, helping them deepen their understanding of how powder properties impact coating quality.   "Many thanks to HPL Technologies for the excellent preparation and execution of the workshop. Over the course of the two days, we gained a wealth of valuable insights, especially regarding the properties of powder materials and their impact on coating processes. These insights will help us consistently ensure the quality of our products", says Walter Baumegger, R&D Engineer Materials Development at Pankl Racing Systems. The workshop equipped them with practical knowledge to optimize their processes and ensure a more consistent, high-quality output in their coating applications.   We look forward to part 2 of the workshop, where the team will visit us to conduct a hands-on powder analysis using our specialized equipment.   Special thanks to you, Mr. Baumegger, for your organizational support!   Providing on-site support is part of HPL's mission to work side by side with stakeholders involved in advancing brake disc coating. By collaborating closely with industry teams at the heart of the action, we aim to be a reliable resource as they navigate new challenges and drive their applications forward.   📌If coating process improvements are on your team’s radar, tag a colleague who’d appreciate the connection!   #brakedisc #automotive #workshop #sharingiscaring #lasercoating #qualityassurance #endofdust

If this technology can be brought to the Chinese market, the response will definitely be very good. Chinese suppliers need this solution to cope with the upcoming brake emission standards.
