The MOU was signed in the presence of the Chairperson Mr. Ganeshal Shrestha, and Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Raju Adhikari. The agreement marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to undertake the project activities aimed at reducing plastic leakages in the rivers of the municipality, with combined efforts of the municipality, schools, youths and community members altogether. It was nice to see bins for segregation of waste at source at Srinagar Airport. Do you mean food composting waste AAI? Also the pictures shown on non recyclable waste are of electronic waste, which will be very less. The pictures of dusted/wet food packages, mlp snax containers etc should be shown on non recyclable bin. I hope the AAI has made further arrangements to transport and treat the waste in segregated form. For example food waste should be converted into compost through organic waste converter. Recycled waste should be sent to authorised recyclers. Non recyclable waste should be sent to cement factories where it is used as fuel or waste to energy projects if available. Through our tireless efforts, we have managed to significantly reduce the amount of waste that would have otherwise ended up in landfills or, worse, our precious natural habitats. By collecting 200kg of waste every day from Kimara Baruti, we are not only cleaning up our immediate surroundings but also setting a positive example for the community at large. Our waste collection initiatives extend beyond mere cleanup efforts. We believe in the power of education and awareness, which is why we actively engage with residents to promote responsible waste disposal practices. By fostering a culture of recycling and waste reduction, we aim to create a lasting impact that will benefit current and future generations. As we continue our daily collection efforts, we are inspired by the progress we have made and the positive feedback we receive from the community. Nairobi Recyclers’ Sustainable Agriculture & Waste Management Project Nairobi Recyclers is transforming waste into wealth by combining sustainable agriculture with waste management. The initiative focuses on waste segregation, composting, and urban farming to create a cleaner and greener Nairobi.
