IMI Critical Engineering has announced a record year for orders throughout the #hydrogen value chain in 2023. Last year saw the manufacturer double its 2022 orders to deliver £15 million worth of projects to support the generation of hydrogen. Key milestones included a successful field test of the company’s IMI PEM #electrolyser at its 16,000m² facility in Sardinia in May 2023. The field test was quickly followed by several electrolyser installations at leading global research organisations throughout the summer and autumn of 2023. These included the IAAPS research facility at the University of Bath and the University of Sheffield’s Sustainable Aviation Fuels Innovation Centre, with the latter successfully producing its first on-site #greenhydrogen in January 2024. Hydrogen solutions will remain a core focus for the company throughout 2024 and beyond, as it looks to expand its hydrogen sector team and the number of electrolyser installations across the world.

🚀 Exciting developments in the world of hydrogen electrolysis! As thyssenkrupp nucera announces its expansion into high-temperature solid-oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs), it's clear that the future of clean energy is heating up. Their strategic partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (Fraunhofer IKTS) aims to leverage advanced chromium-based alloy stacks for superior efficiency and durability. At H2Electro, we applaud this innovation and share a similar vision. Our own SOEC technology, built on the strength of all-ceramic fuel electrodes, is designed to maximize efficiency and sustainability, even under challenging industrial conditions. By converting CO2 and water into hydrogen and carbon monoxide, our systems contribute significantly to the production of e-fuels and the decarbonization of industries like steel and ammonia. We believe that collaborations and advancements in SOEC technology are pivotal for a sustainable energy future. Join us in supporting these groundbreaking initiatives and stay tuned as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in hydrogen electrolysis! 🌍💧⚡ Read more about thyssenkrupp nucera's expansion here: Thyssenkrupp Nucera expands into solid-oxide hydrogen electrolysers #Hydrogen #CleanEnergy #SOEC #Innovation #Sustainability #GreenHydrogen #H2Electro

🌊🚢 Exciting news from the maritime sector Ricardo plc, a global leader in engineering, environmental and strategic consultancy, has expanded its capabilities in hydrogen technology within the global maritime sector. The company is set to begin testing of multi-stack fuel cell technology as it doubles the capacity of its £2.5m ($3.1m) hydrogen test facility in Shoreham-by-Sea, UK. This expansion will support customers with the design, development, and testing of large-scale propulsion systems. Last year, Ricardo agreed to support a European consortium developing the Sustainable Hydrogen Powered Shipping (sHYpS) project, which is focused on designing and developing fuel cell propulsion technologies for ships1. They received funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) under the UK Government’s Horizon Europe funding guarantee to build and test a 375kW fuel cell module. Jason Oms O'Donnell, Managing Director of Automotive and Industrial at Ricardo, explained, "Hydrogen offers a real alternative to supporting decarbonisation in several industries, including maritime, commercial vehicles, off-highway and aerospace where the combination of high value assets, the longevity of fleets and the importance of safe implementation of new technology means that these sectors can be challenging to decarbonise." This is a significant step towards achieving long-term decarbonisation goals in the global maritime sector. Let’s continue to support and celebrate such innovative strides towards a sustainable future! 🌍💡 #HydrogenTechnology #MaritimeSector #Decarbonisation #Innovation #HydrogenSafe Link: [ https://lnkd.in/ePRPqXXi ]

HDF installs high-power hydrogen fuel cell factory in France. By Edward Laity Hydrogéne de France (HDF) Energy has inaugurated its fuel cell manufacturing plant located in Blanquefort, France. The plant will be capable of developing 1MW+ fuel cells, which are expected to serve the decarbonisation of heavy maritime and rail mobility, along with the production of electricity for public power grids. Up to 80% of the proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell tech will be exported from the facility, which is anticipated to complete its industrial process this year. In 2025, the pre-production phase will begin, before industrialisation from 2026 onwards – with the aim of producing 1GW per year by 2030. https://lnkd.in/d5W-fCeC
