Congrats to the team at OceanWell on this recognition from CEMEX Ventures. A small but significant milestone on a very long journey. OceanWell's innovative technology represents a new approach to freshwater harvesting from the sea that unlocks infinitely scalable, modular, and rapidly deployable new water supplies at global scale. We will achieve this with a step-change improvement in fundamental energy and cost efficiency, and a radical elimination of the environmental burdens associated with existing desalination technologies. And unlike existing water desalination technologies, OceanWell's systems are well suited for integration with volatile modern power grids and the variable renewable electricity that increasingly supplies them. Water stress is a growing strategic concern globally, and must be met with new supplies as we collectively work toward realistic climate adaptation strategies. If we do not find much better new methods of reliably augmenting supply, people will certainly still attempt to meet the need, but in unsustainable ways that ultimately compromise our collective long-term security. For this reason, OceanWell's mission to innovate into this problem and push out the frontiers of what is possible is critically important, and also a massive opportunity. Clean, secure, and abundant water creates prosperity and dissolves conflict once brought online. It is a very long lever with which to move the world. As OceanWell's Chairman and initial lead investor, I am proud to do what little I can to advance this mission.
