Which actuary are you actually!? In my interactions with my friends and colleagues who are actuaries I've come across 3 types of actuaries: 🤓The Arrogant one - they know it all and you must know! (1st bar in the image) 😧The Afraid one - they've gone through those rigorous exams and are practicing but think they are a fluke! (2nd bar in the image) 🫡The Ahead one - they just want to get their work done! (3rd bar in the image) Yesterday at the Actuarial Society of Zimbabwe Convention 2024 I asked the audience which one they see themselves as. Looking forward to sharing insights from a new paper introducing a sustainability reporting index for pension funds. 👇 The paper highlights the gaps in embedding environmental, social and governance factors in providing a pension income. The index can be used for benchmarking these factors to assist trustees where to prioritise in line with their fiduciary duties. Key learnings from global comparisons will also be shared, based on contributions from my co-authors: Peter Devlin, Cristina Leicht, Constance Probst, Kalyani Das, Kurtney Durgaparsad, and Yuvern Dokie. #Impact #ASSA
