Life as a doctor in Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) might not be what you think as it is 🤔 It is a journey marked by challenges, learning, and commitment to public service. Working in government hospitals and clinics, KKM doctors are exposed to a diverse patient population with a wide range of medical conditions, from common colds to complex chronic diseases. 🤒 My days are packed with responsibilities: I assess patients, make diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and handle emergencies, all while managing the high patient load typical of government healthcare facilities. Beyond clinical duties, doctors in KKM often face bureaucratic tasks, which include documenting cases, writing reports, and sometimes managing administrative issues. 🥵 This paperwork can be time-consuming but is essential for tracking public health trends and improving patient care. Despite the demanding environment, being a KKM doctor is highly rewarding. Many doctors including myself find fulfillment in serving the underprivileged, knowing they are contributing to the community's well-being. 🥰 The experience they gain is invaluable, as they develop critical problem-solving skills and resilience in high-pressure situations. 🤓 The profession fosters a deep sense of purpose, as doctors not only treat illnesses but also educate patients, advocating for healthier lifestyles and supporting Malaysia's healthcare system on the frontlines. 💪

Training in this space is highly needed since they all serve patients who are customers and the customer journey and experience should be smooth and top notch. I agree there should be streamlined services for some cases like this... #PatienceCentricity #CustomerExperience
Hospitals.......Hatuanguki Nayo! Sio Bash! I recently visited a local hospital to collect some medicine and was quite disappointed with the experience. I understand the importance of thorough processes, but waiting for over two hours due to long queues is simply frustrating, especially for something that doesn't necessarily require a doctor's consultation. Oh, did I mention the impersonal and less Doctor, surely even greetings (who rained on your parade and why take it out on patients) There should be special exemptions or streamlined processes for tasks like medicine collection, which do not need the extended wait times. The hospital really needs to work on managing their time more efficiently to enhance patient satisfaction. Hospitals should consider the following, especially when dealing with patients who are unwell: 1. Regular Updates: Provide regular updates to those waiting in line. Let them know the expected wait time and any reasons for delays. 2. Dedicated Staff for Queries: Have dedicated staff members available to answer questions and provide assistance, reducing the confusion and frustration. 3. Efficient Triage System: Implement an efficient triage system to prioritize patients based on the urgency of their needs, ensuring quicker service for those with simpler requirements. 4. Feedback Mechanism: Encourage and actively seek patient feedback to identify pain points and improve the overall experience continuously. 5. Empathy: The hospital team from the gate to the theater (especially Doctors) should be as understanding as possible – we are not there for a party or Kuanguka Nayo. PS: The pharmacy personnel who served me – Amazing, he was kind, patient and ready and willing to explain, He can and should teach some people there how to serve patients. #DisappointedPatient #PatientExperience #TimeManagement #HealthcareImprovement

Hello everyone! I'm excited to share my latest publication, titled "Length of Stay di Instalasi Gawat Darurat sebagai Indikator Mutu Pelayanan Kesehatan di Rumah Sakit X Tahun 2024." This article is based on my undergraduate thesis, exploring an important performance indicator in Emergency Department: Length of Stay (LOS). Prolonged LOS, especially for patients transferred from the Emergency Department to inpatient care, can lead to overcrowding, increase risks for patients, and impact overall satisfaction. Published in Jurnal ARSI (Administrasi Rumah Sakit Indonesia) in October 2024, this research uses lean thinking to examine service flow, identify barriers, and analyze root causes of LOS in Hospital X’s Emergency Department. I also provide recommendations for improving patient care and operational efficiency. You can access the full article through this link: https://lnkd.in/gh8pfCMj I hope this publication contributes to meaningful discussions and advancements in healthcare quality! #HealthcareResearch #EmergencyDepartment #LengthOfStay #LeanThinking #PatientCare #HealthcareQuality #Publication

Assessing Medical Specialist Training Programme. New responsibilities await; this time, I will be an assessor evaluating Malaysia's medical specialist training programme. My role as the assessor is quite long, five years to be exact, and the appointment is by the Malaysian Medical Council. Among my responsibilities as a panel penilai or assessor is to examine and ensure that medical specialist training programmes (to train future medical specialists in Malaysia at higher institutions) achieve high standards. We will examine if the offered programmes are able to produce medical specialists who will serve with adequate knowledge, skills and who are effectiveness. Remember that medicine's present and future challenges differ greatly from those of five or ten years ago. The medical field is very dynamic, and the quality of service needs to be maintained at all times. #kementeriankesihatan #moh #publichealth

The Australia Indonesia Center (AIC) is spearheading bilateral cooperation between Australia and Indonesia within the nursing domain. Supported by the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (IA-CEPA), this collaboration aims to enhance the skills of Indonesian and Australian nurses. Indonesia's aspiration to emerge as a global medical tourism hub hinges on overcoming the challenge of limited access to specialized nursing expertise. By partnering with Katalis, AIC endeavors to address these challenges and identify avenues for enhancing nursing proficiency and facilitating mobility in line with IA-CEPA. Katalis Director Paul Bartlett expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with AIC to streamline health professional standards and healthcare accessibility across both nations, bolstered by the full backing of the Indonesian and Australian governments. Over the next six months, Katalis and AIC will delve into market disparities and requirements, assess the parity of nursing qualifications in each country, and foster dialogues among professional service entities. These efforts will culminate in a comprehensive repository of insights and analyses aimed at fostering closer alignment in nursing education between Australia and Indonesia, while also facilitating the mutual recognition of nursing standards and practices. #indvestime #batam #indonesia

One of my clients is spearheading a study in New Zealand aimed at the Maori population adherence improvement. We validated the #MMAS-4 in te reo Māori to address this remote area that can benefit from our tools. Not only in clinical study environment but as a standards of care practice and protocol. Integrating this standardized instrument into the local clinics and hospitals through traditional methods and digital technology where available. The mission is to bring these tools to the front and center of every population in the world, localized and harmonized to specific dialects so that everyone can benefit from tailored, educational counseling and interventions geared towards a self management of prescribed medications. This is the best way to ensure control of symptoms and healthier outcomes to treatments. I am honored to actively participate in this ground breaking study and look forward to other countries participating in this epic journey of mine. There are approximately 7,000 languages in the world and I only have in the hundreds of validations so far. These efforts require a solid belief and participation and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you to all the partner collaborators out there! And those of you who are interested, I also welcome your efforts. the company called adherence. Māori MMAS-4 1. Kei wareware koe ki te tango i o raau? 2.
