With temperatures surpassing preindustrial averages by 1.48°C and 1.5°C likely this year, we’re teetering on the edge of “The Tipping Point.” Our planet’s survival hangs in the balance. Three critical climate risks loom large: 1.     Extreme Weather Events: These threaten lives, infrastructure, and economies. 2.     Biodiversity Loss and Ecosystem Collapse: Marine ecosystems, tourism, and global food security are at risk. 3.     NEW in 2024 - Critical Earth System Changes: Abrupt shifts in Earth systems will soon lead to irreversible consequences, affecting ecosystems, weather patterns, and our overall planetary stability. We are on the brink of transitioning from bad to worse. We must act now. Last January, inspired by the report, Springhouse Ventures started a new initiative. Our mission: a sustainable economy through community-driven green spaces and technologies. Our team is in Europe this week, collaborating with experts to promote collective sustainability. We are partnering with architects and envisioning communities blending technology, artificial intelligence, and art in green spaces. Our discussions with university researchers emphasize the transformative impact of community gardens on soil restoration, organic food production, healthcare, and collective well-being. Dear politicians, don't you see that the ecosystem of our planet is totally worn out by us? And can I ask all environmentalist to please STOP TALKING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE. That diagnostic is - although true - far too narrow, and it is distorting the narrative completely. The real problem is GLOBAL ECOSYSTEM COLLAPSE. Excessive land use causing accelerated mass extinction of mainly large vertebrates is a far greater problem. Autonomous nature is almost inexistent. Everything we have done so far is too little too late. And populism, both on the left and on the right side, will only make things worse. We have to do everything at once: invent a just and inclusive capitalism that doesn't need excessive growth, preserve 50% of the planet as autonomous natural reserve, and limit our population to less than 4 billion. When will we ever stop celebrating our blind anthropocentric ignorance?

#ActiveHope 🍀 As the just published - The 2024 state of the climate report: Perilous times on planet Earth starts with the statement - "We are on the brink of an irreversible climate disaster. This is a global emergency beyond any doubt.", this is high time to feel the pain. Our greed, absurdities and disrespect for nature and environment are leading us to the runway #climatechnage and inevitable #collapse. The Deep Adaptation Forum and Jem Bendell have already started working on this and in many ways are supported by the r3.0 and its work on #collapseresilience. We may be at the brink of collapse but I would argue that we are also at a brink of #transformation. #communities around the world are demonstrating #agency with #innovation and #resistance in all different platforms ranging from COPs to Bioregions Project. They are perhaps still #fractals and have't yet scaled out to create the #positivetipping effect, but we are close.
