The Department of Science and Technology — Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD), through the Grants-in-Aid (GIA) Program, has recently approved National University's research proposal to promote public health surveillance in the Philippines. In an era where digital footprints are ubiquitous, the fusion of social media and public health surveillance represents a groundbreaking advancement. The project, HealthPH: Intelligent Disease Surveillance using Social Media, is an innovative project aimed at revolutionizing disease surveillance and public health management in the Philippines through the intelligent use of social media. It spans 12 months from October 2023 to September 2024. The initiative is primarily applied research, focusing on the health sector and aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. 🙏 It was a pleasure meeting with Doudou SONKO, Head of Multisectorality, and his colleagues at the Direction of Planning, Research, and Statistics (DPRS). Our discussions revolved around our shared commitment to address #publichealth challenges, focusing not only on treatment but also on prevention and the #socialdeterminantsofhealth.   At BLUMORPHO we believe in opening up to other sectors to tackle social determinants of health, make the best of #digitalhealth, create value, stimulate local economic activity, and develop skills and infrastructure.   Recognizing that deficiencies in one aspect of the ecosystem affect the entire system, the DPRS team underscores the importance of mobilizing all stakeholders to improve health indicators and provide better care. They emphasize the need for healthcare to extend beyond medical facilities, reaching households and communities to promote preventive care.   Olivia Uguen and Radia Lahlou highlighted our ambition to promote the emergence of digital health to facilitate access to healthcare and address major epidemiological challenges Senegal is facing. The HOLICARE Diagnostics project is a good exemple of what technological and social #innovation can bring to fight against respiratory diseases affecting a large portion of the population. Such project is at the heart of the communities' needs and aligns with DPRS's strategy to foster the adoption of new technologies.   Our discussions laid a solid foundation for future collaboration to collectively address these challenges, improve healthcare delivery for all, and promote the emergence of digital health.   #healthcareinnovation #publichealthmatters #valuecreation
