🌿 The seaweed voice🌿 Last week, CleanEyre Global had the privilege of participating in the ASSA - Australian Sustainable Seaweed Alliance Workshop, focused on Asparagopsis: Hatchery and Cultivation. Events like this are vital for bringing the #aquacultureIndustry together, fostering #collaboration, and sharing the knowledge that drives innovation. A key initiative discussed was the #NationalHatcheryNetwork (NHN), which promises to have a transformative impact on the seaweed industry. This project will address critical #biosecurity concerns, establish strong biological and #biodiversity frameworks, and expedite #innovation. By creating a network that runs essential research, the industry can focus on developing the seaweed sector and aligning with market demands. This #collaboration will not only enhance our ability to innovate but will also help safeguard the future of sustainable seaweed farming in Australia. ASSA has become an invaluable force in uniting the seaweed industry with a powerful, united voice. By communicating directly with the Australian Government , ASSA ensures that the seaweed industry's trends, strengths, challenges, and opportunities are heard at the highest levels. This kind of #representation is crucial to shaping #policies that support the sustainable growth of seaweed aquaculture. At CleanEyre Global, we fully support ASSA’s mission and recognize the incredible role they play in making sure our industry's needs are represented in #AustralianNationalBudgets and #policy discussions. The future of sustainable aquaculture depends on strong, unified efforts—and ASSA is leading the way. Seems like betting on a system that’s run successfully for a few hundred million years could be the smart play. Being nature-based means being efficiency-based. If you’re a risk-averse investor, this is the direction that has the potential for exponential rewards. Once natural systems get going, you just get out of the way. Ride the waves, don’t push into them. #blueeconomy #oceanbasedaquaculture #bluetech #impactinvest

🚀 Innovation and Sustainability in Chilean Aquaculture 🌊 I’m excited to share an article we recently published in InfoSALMON about Brynsløkken AS, the Norwegian company where I recently started working. Over the past three months, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of a team that’s committed to innovation and sustainability in antifouling coatings for aquaculture nets. In Chile, we’ve made a significant impact by reducing operational costs for the aquaculture industry, optimizing net usage, and improving fish welfare 🐟. Products like Notorius, distributed through VESO Chile, have proven their effectiveness by improving the health of fish through cleaner nets, which lead to better oxygen flow and feed conversion. We are proud that our efforts not only benefit aquaculture companies but also contribute to a healthier environment for fish. 🌱🌊 ➡️ I invite you to read more about our story and achievements in the Chilean market through our article in InfoSalmon (https://lnkd.in/eZxFspqG). #Aquaculture #Innovation #Sustainability #Antifouling #Salmon #Chile #FishingIndustry #Brynslokken

Honoured to have been interviewed Rob Fletcher @thefishsite and to share the news of aquaculture in the Caribbean It all started with conversations on Zoom and Instagram Live during the pandemic in 2021. Connecting with Jamaican fish farmers to learn more about how the pandemic had affected the tilapia and ornamental fish industry and to find answers through the farmer's opinions as to why aquaculture, as we know it in Jamaica, was significantly on the decline compared to the global statistics put out by FAO. From those farmers, the idea of online networking was born. The first ever online networking - The Caribbean Aquaculture Network - for fish farmers then later included anyone involved in all sectors in aquaculture and targeted to the Caribbean region, was created in November 2021. Since then after several webinars, workshops, meetings with farmers, entrepreneurs, scientists and students later, The Caribbean Aquaculture Education and Innovation Hub Caribbean Aquaculture Education and Innovation Hub , Women in Caribbean Aquaculture and Youth in Caribbean Aquaculture was born. I want to thank the Women of WiCA and the young people of YCA who have volunteered many hours in the last 3 years who have out of passion and knowing the urgency and need to energize aquaculture in the region for their commitment to seeing the creation of the Caribbean Aquaculture Hub. Despite its importance for food security and marine conservation, Aquaculture contributes a relatively small percentage to the GDP of Caribbean countries. While the specific figure varies between islands, aquaculture generally represents less than 1% of the GDP in the region We believe that Education and R&D with a focus on a new generation with youth skills training will begin the process of energizing aquaculture in the region.
