Just like that we're already in December! The holiday season can be a time of joy, but it can also bring challenges. For many, it’s a period of heightened emotions, stress, or even sadness. These feelings can make it harder to stay focused on tasks, especially in environments where distraction can lead to serious safety risks.   At Inline Group, we believe safety starts with mental well-being. When we’re feeling down or overwhelmed, our minds aren’t fully present, and that can put ourselves and others at risk. Distraction on the job can cause missed steps, improper use of equipment, or a lapse in situational awareness—issues that can have serious consequences.   If the holidays are weighing on you, here are some ways to prioritize safety and mental health on the job: 1. Take Breaks When Needed: Step away to refocus. A short pause can help you reset and return to work with clarity. 2. Lean on Your Team: Talk with a coworker or supervisor if you’re struggling. Supportive conversations can lighten the load and help you feel less isolated. 3. Check-In with Yourself: Notice when your mind is wandering. Take a moment to ground yourself by focusing on your breath or taking a few slow, deep breaths. 4. Set Small Goals: When things feel overwhelming, breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps can help you stay on track. 5. Use Resources Available to You: Inline has just launched a new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Virtual Healthcare program, aimed at providing Inliners with access to an ecosystem of services to support the health of both themselves and their families. I agree. I have joined the club of the retired now & was never employed by Inline however the tips you gave can definitely be applied to us not in the workplace now, with a few tweaks. Thanks for the wonderful advice! I can definitely use this in my present life!
