I’m not visiting the RWM this year. I haven’t done for a few years now. I don’t miss it in honesty, although I miss some of the people. I’d be really interested in what the ROI is on the event now - from both exhibitors and visitors…. Honest answers in due course would be intriguing… no bull shit / imaginary pipeline numbers… but actual conversion of leads generated from the event to sales revenue…. I’d also be interested in businesses that decided to send the staff without a stand, and if that central business meeting point pays back more than exhibiting (albeit difficult to quantify relationship management vs sales revenue from an event) #WasteManagement #MarkettingInvestment *this isn’t a dig at the event btw… but a genuine info gathering excercise 🫶

We recently held a webinar “Tips for Exhibiting at CHFA NOW Toronto.” You can watch the entire webinar below. Here’s a few tips from me for brands that are exhibiting at the show: 1 Before: Reach out to your retailers with your booth number. Understand where you’d fit in a natural and a grocery store. Be ready and know where you fit in the market. 2 During: Short Pitch: Have a clear concise message for the attendees. Explain your why in a few sentences so we all understand. 3 After: Follow up! Send your sales team (even if it’s your broker, distributor, or your own self) the short notes of your convos. Know when the review timing is for your category and in a succinct email, layout your why and where you fit into their store. Keep it short, knowledgeable and understandable. It’s important that in a moment people can see your value and where your brand fits into their goals clearly. Have fun! It’s the best time of year to connect in person!

It's taking what you've been successful at already, which is closing this plethora of exhibitors, this exhibitor pool, and building upon it. So year over year, it continues to grow. That's the whole notion behind the velocity component: design a velocity strategy, which has goals attached to it. What's your retention goal for this year? What's your new sales goal for next year? How do you work right out of the show to re-sign all those happy, successful exhibitors so that as you go into year two, you already know what your base is.
