Study focuses on action video games ability to address adolescent anxiety. Here is an opportunity to participate in a study that will measure commercial video games viability as a treatment for anxiety in 12 - 14 year old children. This is a great way to learn more about video games as therapeutics and perhaps open a meaningful dialogue with a kiddo who may be struggling with mental health issues. The enrollment period ends June 30th and the link below will provide much more detail and access to enrollment. Additonal Details: The study aims to recruit 150 individuals, 12 to 14 years of age, with high levels of anxiety as reported by the parents’ online form of the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Disorders questionnaire. As children continue to mature, they understand the world around them in slightly different ways. Some of them prefer a verbal approach, others depend more on visual processing or can be intrigued by books and listening to dialogues 💬 Despite their unique cognitive processing style, all children are expected to reach multiple developmental milestones across the first 2-years of life: crawling, grabbing something, walking with single words, etc 👣 When a child doesn’t reach these milestones, they are at higher risk for developing visual-spatial deficits, sometimes referred to as a nonverbal learning disorder 🌀 In this video, our psychomotor therapist, Mabelle El Koreh, explains how visual-spatial disorder looks in children’s daily lives and learning, impacting tasks like writing, reading and math 📑 -- There are many ways to support and even treat children with visual-spatial disorder to achieve their potential.
