To my knowledge, it is the only project that focuses on how the DPP can actually deliver on the non-toxic circular economy - by building full material traceability data systems. Without this dynamic linkage, the DPP data eg. on SoC present in products would soon be outdated and therefore illegitimate. Great to see the textile sector embraces this opportunity to crack open crusted mindsets among their peers and suppliers, but also on part of policy-makers who have to support broad uptake of this key enabling technology. https://lnkd.in/dX5zz2Yp

Tomorrow, several CISUTAC project partners will present our modular and semi-automated zipper repair workstation as part of the Circular & Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub organised by Textile ETP 🛠️ While most zipper repairs are done using standard sewing machines, the process can be challenging and time-consuming (over 40 minutes per zipper) due to the need for specific spare parts and customisation based on the unique size and components of each zipper. To address this issue, the CISUTAC consortium created a modular, semi-automated concept that can adapt to different processes and materials, allowing operators to work more efficiently. More information on our zipper repair workstation⬇ https://lnkd.in/e6TYum_5
On Friday, we are kicking off one of the Circular & Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub activities: Challenge Accepted ✅ This upcoming collaborative online session will focus on the topic of repair services and related information to DPP systems. In this session, a central challenge of repairability in textile products will be introduced through the example of an ongoing work in the CISUTAC project, which will be followed by small group discussions in break-out rooms on : 🪛 Versatility of repair systems to enable repairs of a wide range of products, facilitated by PCH Innovations 🏪 Repair accessibility & infrastructure – where to offer repair services and to whom, facilitated by Kringwinkel Antwerpen ⚙️ Business models around repair & how does it impact product design and offering, facilitated by Decathlon Italia This event is exclusively for members of the Circular & Biobased Textiles Innovation Hub. ⏪ Let's go back in time and reminisce the Textile ReDesign Jam that was organised a couple weeks back. The international Textile ReDesign Jam was organised hybrid from February 29 to March 1, 2024. In the event, participants all over the Baltic Sea region came up with ideas and developed circular economy solutions to the challenges set by five different companies. 🌟 One of he challenge owner companies was Kesko - K-Group, which is a Finnish trading sector operator, biggest in Finland and one of the biggest in Northern Europe. They operate in the grocery trade, building and technical trade, and car trade. Kesko promotes sustainability in their whole value chain, from production to customer choices. The focus areas of their sustainability strategy are climate and nature, value chain, people, and good governance. 🎤 After the event, we interviewed Kesko's environmental manager Hanna Lehmuskoski and asked, what made Kesko take part in this event. “We wanted to see what kind of innovative ideas students can come up with when it comes to enhancing circularity in hypermarkets in Finland” said Hanna. 💬 Hanna described the background of the task as follows: “Circular economy is much more than just recycling or utilising our own side streams to new products, as important as these are too. We wanted to see what kind of innovative ideas students can come up with considering services, reuse, repair, and second-hand business.” Two groups competed in Kesko's challenge. The ideas of the groups were related to recycling, repairing and exchanging used clothes of consumers in the premises of K-Citymarket. 💥 “The ideas were innovative, bold, well-structured, and very versatile in their circular aspects. There is real potential in applicability too.” Hanna summarised. Thank you Kesko for being part of our Textile ReDesign Jam! 👉 Want to develop your company's idea towards circularity? 🌍 Did you know that the textile industry faces significant and rapidly growing sustainability challenges that necessitate a swift transition to a circular economy? ☝️According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation the textile industry accounts for 10% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and 20% of wastewater in the EU, yet less than 1% of clothing is currently recycled into new textile fibers 🧐 I have had the privilege to lead a Business Finland-funded research project focused on sustainability transformation, particularly within the nonwovens industry. At Tampere University of Applied Sciences our team has primarily concentrated on researching sustainable business models, while our lab, in collaboration with Aalto University and VTT has been actively working towards sustainability🌱 As part of this research, I had the opportunity to present one of our ongoing papers at #AMASummer, co-authored with my dear colleagues Karina Burgdorff Jensen and Andrea Urbinati, Ph.D. 📝 In case you missed this presentation, no worries! I will also be presenting our findings in Finland at the #finalevent of the SUSTAFIT – Sustainable fit-for-purpose nonwovens project on September 10 📅 🚀 If you are interested in learning more about the business models and sales-related research we’ve been conducting in the #SUSTAFIT project, please join us. 👉 You can find more details and register here: https://lnkd.in/d5rhxa93 A special thanks to Antti Lähtevänoja for the picture 📸, and to Selma Kadic-Maglajlic Guzi Huang Dr. Aline Lanzrath Milena Micevski Nawar Chaker and Antti for attending the #Sustainabilitytrack, listening to my presentation and about your comments at #AMASummer 🙏 Now, it’s time to head back home🏠 My week in #Boston and at #AMASummer #NewHorizons was absolutely thrilling! I was so glad to connect with both US-based and European sales scholars. You know who you are 💗 Meeting everyone has energized me to continue striving for excellence in sales research💪 Let’s change the game together with superior sales research for the future! 🚀🚀🚀 #B2B #Sales #SalesManagement #ResearcherLife

【Exhibition News】✨Guidechem wishes ECV International a great success✨ The 3rd Asia Green Packaging Innovation Summit 2024 📅 November 21-22, 2024 📍 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🌍 ECV International 🌐 https://lnkd.in/gJ2k38K6 BACKGROUND Over the last 10 years, global awareness of the impact of packaging waste has not only gained massive momentum, but our whole approach to sustainable packaging has been revolutionized. Through legal obligations and sanctions, media publicity and increased awareness from fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) producers, sustainability in packaging has been firmly entrenched as a top priority in the industry. If industry players are not including sustainability as one of their key strategic pillars, it won’t just be detrimental for the planet, it will also hinder their success – a sentiment reiterated in Roland Berger’s latest study, “Packaging sustainability 2030”. The summit will gather the leaders of packaging value chain, brands, recyclers and regulators, with a shared mission to accelerate sustainable transformation in packaged goods.
