The textile and fashion industry is experiencing rapid transformation with sustainability, tech innovation, and customization at the forefront. Globally, brands like Patagonia and H&M are focusing on eco-friendly materials and circular fashion, while locally, Pakistan's Khaadi Corporation and Gulahmed Ideas are embracing digital tools to streamline production and reduce waste. As one of the world’s largest textile exporters, Pakistan’s role is crucial. Companies like Artistic Milliners are setting the benchmark with their focus on water conservation and energy-efficient production, while Interloop Limited is investing in automation and green energy. These advancements not only reduce environmental impact but also ensure that Pakistan stays competitive in the global market. With consumers demanding more transparency and personalized products, the future of fashion lies in how brands — both locally and globally — integrate sustainability, technology, and ethical practices. #FashionTrends #TextileIndustry #Sustainability #PakistanTextiles #FutureOfFashion #TechInFashion #EcoFriendlyFashion #ApparelInnovation #PakistaniManufacturers #BusinessOfFashion

💰 From an economial point of view, the textile industry is one of the #most #important sectors in the world with a value of USD 1.3 trillion per year . In Europe, according to estimates by the European Commission, the sector generates a turnover of EUR 160 billion per year and #employs more than 1.5 million people with approximately 160,000 companies in the sector. 🛑 The textile sector is also among the most polluting sectors in the world, ranking 4th, after food, housing and mobility. This negative record is due, above all, to a doubling of production in the last decade, as well as to the emergence of the new fashion industry, or 'fast fashion'. 🌿 In the last years there is a new market segment that is rapidly expanding #slow #fashion and #hemp is playing a crucial role towards transition to sustainble textile. 👉 Read more in our article about slow fashion and hemp textile. 🌏 ♻ ‘We need to develop a circular economic model as soon as possible, so brands and manufacturers need to walk the talk.’ Oanh Nguyen from SAITEX INTERNATIONAL DONG NAI (VN) Ltd. explains that to create a thriving planet, the garment industry must shift to a circular economy. Looking forward to moderate the Discussion Group 1: Fashion, Apparel & Footwear at Verdantix's Sustainable Supply Chain Summit Europe tomorrow! Join us at the The President Brussels Hotel to explore the drivers, priorities and technology choices across six high impact sectors: https://lnkd.in/dZWusnWW The event offers a pragmatic list of sessions that will shed light on pain points and practical solutions available in the market for #duediligence, #transparency and #scope3 decarbonisation in particular, making the link between #sustainability, #compliance and #resiliency. Science - be it IPCC Reports, the 2024 State of the Climate Report or else - is giving us, for decades, a strong signal: our economy and society cannot thrive in a dead planet. As I recently heard in a climate speech, "the time for action is not now; it was yesterday". Whereas a myriad of solutions and sustainability initiatives spread in the market, moving forward means cutting through the noise and guiding companies to find the right approach. One that works in their specific circumstances without compromising clear science-based targets nor the harmonisation and comparability so much needed for progress. Sustainability is not only about compliance. It is THE smart choice. A matter of endurance, business continuity and justice. Rafaela Brito P. 🎊 We are celebrating our 5th anniversary! 🎊 The Policy Hub was launched with a mission: uniting stakeholders across the textile and footwear value chain to speak in a shared voice with European decision-makers. Our goal? To advocate for an ambitious regulatory framework that prioritises environmental and social sustainability within the sector. ♻ As we reflect on the state of the textile industry, it is clear that, despite being one of the largest global economic sectors, it has historically lacked robust regulation to ensure sustainable practices. However, a fundamental regulatory framework at the EU level is in the making, as the #EuropeanCommission has presented nearly 20 legislative proposals since our inception. 🇪🇺 We remain committed to supporting the development and implementation of legislation that steers critical changes in how sustainable and circular practices are integrated, developed, and scaled within the textile industry. Dive into our Five-Year Anniversary Report for an overview of how we are driving the transition to a circular textile and footwear industry through the EU legislative framework.
