It's Earth Week! 🌏
This week serves as a moment to honor our environment, protect our community from pollution, and push for progress in clean energy, healthy rivers, and protected lands.
Our first Earth Week Highlight is Nevada. Thanks to the U.S. Clean Energy Plan’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), more solutions exist than ever before. Nevada has an unprecedented opportunity to reduce carbon pollution, boost clean energy progress, and lower our utility bills, making our communities healthier and safer.
This Earth Week, go green and get green by maximizing your tax savings with energy-efficient upgrades! 🌿🏡 Make the most of available incentives from the U.S. Clean Energy Plan & save money while protecting our environment.

At the end of March, Energy Peace Partners and 11 other non-profits launched the Leapfrog Alliance, a new coalition calling for stronger incentives to increase corporate investment in #cleanenergy access in unelectrified and underserved communities globally.
The goal of this platform is to strengthen the incentive structure embedded in corporate environmental accounting frameworks. To do this, one of the suggested proposals is to advocate for major investments in unelectrified regions, by asking policymakers and standards bodies to encourage and enable companies to dedicate up to 10% of their global clean energy procurement to these projects.

Amazing news! 🎉
Our £8m MultiResilience project with Northern Powergrid, Smarter Grid Solutions, and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks has received funding through the Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF), an Ofgem programme managed in partnership.
The SIF programme is managed in partnership with Innovate UK, to develop cost-effective, coordinated solutions that will protect our customers' power supplies during extreme weather events. ⚡
Why is this project important?
Resilience is increasingly important as customers rely more on electricity for heat and transportation, with greatest value in rural locations that have a heightened risk of outage. Proliferation of Low Carbon Technologies across LV and HV systems present opportunities, if coordinated appropriately, for delivery of resilience services that maintain customer supply during unplanned grid outages.
Previous projects have demonstrated separate approaches via LV-connected and HV-connected resilient DERs. Coordination of such solutions can enhance the value case of resilience. The project will compare and contrast technologies and optimise hybrid applications of the two approaches to deliver cost-effective resilience to customers.
Sarah Sheehy and the team at TNEI will work with Northern Powergrid to analyse network impacts, lead the development of specifications of MultiResilience, and undertake virtual trial simulations to understand and confirm the implications for the broader network.
