📢 Exciting insights into current research on human aversion to moral decisions made by algorithms!
In the context of the UHOH research network on "Work, Digitalization and Sustainability (WDS)" we had the honor of welcoming Prof. Matthias Uhl (TH Ingolstadt, designated Chair of the UHOH-Department of Business and Social Ethics).
He presented his fascinating experimental research on human aversion to moral decisions made by algorithms. Contrary to previous claims, Prof. Uhl and his colleagues demonstrate that aversion to algorithms in moral decision-making is less about the opacity of algorithmic decision processes. Instead, people seem to prefer decision-makers who can transcend existing rules when making moral decisions (as long as they have no incentive to omit it).
🧠🔍The findings offer new perspectives on the role of human and algorithmic decision-making in morally sensitive contexts. The paper can be found here: https://lnkd.in/ebVz5RAj
We are looking forward to having Prof. Matthias Uhl here in Hohenheim, to learn more about his exciting topics, and to conduct research together.
