Earlier this week, our team – alongside Brenda Osler from Richmond Hill Economic Development – participated in a #YRtech site visit at Maple Advanced Robotics Inc. (MARI). This innovative Richmond Hill, York Region-based robotics company is specializing in AI-driven software platforms for the advancement and commercialization of robotics and machine vision in advanced manufacturing. MARI is currently working with industry leaders like Magna International, a global auto parts company headquartered in York Region. Their AI software solutions are being used to create maximum efficiency for autonomous robot activities like sanding and buffing metal and wood products. Their software adapts to teach itself at a pace far faster than traditional robot programming, leading to tasks being done quicker and with a higher degree of precision. This is an excellent example of a company in York Region leveraging access to top Canadian talent to develop innovative solutions for opportunities where software and hardware intersect on a global scale. This is the strength of the #YRtech ecosystem that is home to over 4,900 ICT companies! MARI's technology was developed with support from NGen Canada and has recently received a second round of funding to continue to advance their AI-software solutions.
