Idk if this makes any difference to the world!!! “On the day new data is out on famine in #GAZA, the Israeli Authorities deny my entry to Gaza. - Famine is imminent in the northern Gaza Strip, expected to arrive between now and May. - Two million people = the entire population of Gaza is facing crisis levels of food insecurity or worse. - Half the population has completely exhausted food supplies and coping capacities. They are struggling with catastrophic hunger (IPC Phase 5) and starvation. - This is the highest number of people ever recorded as facing catastrophic hunger by the IPC system and double the number just three months ago. - Earlier, UNICEF warned that the # of children under two years old suffering from acute malnutrition has doubled in one month. - Children are now dying of dehydration & hunger. UNRWA has by far the largest presence among all humanitarian organisations in Gaza. My visit today was supposed to coordinate & improve the humanitarian response. This man-made starvation under our watch is a stain on our collective humanity. Too much time was wasted, all land crossings must open now. Famine can be averted with political will." The brutality must STOP

In International Humanitarian Law (IHL), civilians are afforded specific protections, especially in situations of armed conflict. The term "civilian" generally refers to individuals who are not members of armed forces or groups and who do not take part in hostilities. Key Protections for Civilians in IHL: 1. Principle of Distinction: Parties to a conflict must always distinguish between civilians and combatants. Attacks should only be directed against military targets, and civilians should not be the object of attack. 2. Protection from Direct Attack: Civilians are protected from direct attacks unless they take a direct part in hostilities, in which case they may lose their protection for the duration of their participation. 3. Prohibition of Indiscriminate Attacks: IHL prohibits attacks that cannot differentiate between civilians and military objectives, often referred to as indiscriminate attacks. 4. Proportionality in Attack: Even if an attack is aimed at a legitimate military target, it must not cause excessive harm to civilians or civilian objects in relation to the anticipated military advantage. 5. Duty to Take Precautions: Parties to a conflict must take all feasible precautions to avoid or minimize harm to civilians and civilian objects. This includes choosing means and methods of warfare that reduce risks to civilians. 6. Humanitarian Assistance: Civilians in conflict areas must be allowed to receive humanitarian aid, and the obstruction of such aid can constitute a violation of IHL. Key Legal Instruments: - The Geneva Conventions (1949) and their Additional Protocols (1977): These are the primary treaties that set out protections for civilians in times of war. The Fourth Geneva Convention specifically addresses the protection of civilian persons in times of war. - Customary International Law: Many of the protections afforded to civilians in armed conflict have become part of customary international law, binding even on states and actors that have not ratified specific treaties. Violations of these protections, such as deliberately targeting civilians or using them as human shields, may constitute war crimes under IHL. In conclusion, Israel is violating the IHL through comitting war crimes in #Gaza against civilians and humanitarian workers.

𝑼𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒂𝒇𝒂𝒉 (#Gaza) 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: The lives of 2.3 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip are under severe threat. They face the dangers of death, injury, and the collapse of essential infrastructure due to ongoing conflict situations. 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀: • Potential Military Actions: The possible incursion into Rafah could exacerbate an already disastrous humanitarian situation 🚩🚩🚩 • Humanitarian Challenges: Hospitals are under-supplied and overwhelmed, with severe restrictions on access to vital services. Even accessing aid has become perilous 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆: • The Rafah military incursion is not inevitable • The Protection Cluster for the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the Global Protection Cluster emphasize that the protection of civilians, including children, must remain the highest priority • We advocate for an immediate and permanent ceasefire as the only viable solution to prevent further suffering and casualties among Gaza's civilians. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: • According to international humanitarian law and directives from the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the government of Israel must implement strategies that minimize civilian harm, including to children. • We urge an immediate halt to attacks on Rafah and other areas where civilians are most vulnerable 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: • We demand a significant increase in humanitarian access to Gaza, especially through land crossings, to ensure aid can reach those in desperate need throughout the Strip. #ChildProtection For further details, please read our full statement here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eZvFhB6Z

Yes ! it is unacceptable, but who is the real Culprit in actual fact? Now it seems UN is a platform only for beautiful speeches and empty promises, in thralldom of lethal policies to expand the market of outdated lethal weapons worldwide, using the sanctity of religion as a political and professional tool. Till now they are only destroying the embodiment of terrorism, ignoring its brutal ideologies that's invincible for the entire world. We mean, without a perfect ideology to combat the evil ideologies that creating the basis for terrorism, it's impossible to uproot the terrorist groups presently as Hamas, Hizbullah .... Be sure they will again emerge with different ensign and name. God gifted Jerusalem as a sacred place to enlighten the path to humanity and peace, with equal right for all to exist on this planet. But those terrorist groups are trying to disgrace that sacred place, to make it a base to rule over the people from different communities or sects, leading the entire humankind on path to an unnatural end

The most disturbing part of what is happening in Gaza, Palestine and Israel is how it has proved with total consistency that since the beginning of time, peaceful coexistence and resolution of disputes is infeasible in this part of the world, and eventually how the people of the area still resort repeatedly to the rule of force as a method of choice to achieve what they perceive to be growth. Accordingly, even though I believe in the peaceful and respectful resolution of problems as the best method to pursue human progress, I consider the effort to establish these values in this area impossible, at least for now, as the pro-peace forces inside the area are too weak compared to the pro-war forces, and the forces outside the area interested in it are not willing to press enough for the discontinuation of violence. Until any one of these factors changes we will continue witnessing the savagery that we have been witnessing the last two years to the detriment of the poor, the weak, the underprivileged and the unaware.
