🚀 Excited to announce the release of our report published by CAREC Institute, "Opportunities and Challenges of Infrastructure Digitalization and Decarbonization in Central Asia," in collaboration with Dr. Burulcha Sulaimanova from OSCE Academy in Bishkek and Dr. Aijan Sharshenova, PhD from Crossroads Central Asia! 📊🌍 🔍 Our research delves into the pivotal role of digitalization and decarbonization in Central Asia's infrastructure development, offering insights for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to advance sustainability efforts in the region. 💡 Key highlights include: Identifying the current state and plans for digital infrastructure supporting decarbonization. Analyzing the enabling environment, including legal frameworks and regulations. Assessing local skills and capacity. Exploring the impact of digitalization on reducing GHG emissions. Unveiling challenges and barriers through expert surveys. 🌱 Despite mixed progress, there's a shared recognition among Central Asian countries of the benefits digitalization and decarbonization bring to their economies and societies. 🌐 Regional projects like Digital CASA and initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative offer immense potential for introducing low-carbon technologies, fostering collaboration, and accelerating decarbonization efforts. 📈 Our econometric modeling reveals a promising relationship: increased digitalization correlates with reduced carbon emissions in Central Asia, showcasing the potential for digitalization to facilitate decarbonization. 💬 This report provides valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of focused interventions to overcome barriers and accelerate sustainable development in Central Asia. Dive into the full report for a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges in Central Asia's journey towards a more sustainable future! 🌟 #Infrastructure #Digitalization #Decarbonization #CentralAsia #Sustainability

📈 Scaling innovations in the public sector is often considered a big challenge. Together with Albert Meijer Rik Braams and Paul Meijer, I designed a practical tool with which public sector employees can plan and reflect on scaling innovations. 💡 Our main take-aways for the public sector: - Take into account that scaling is a context-specific and iterative process. - Use the tool together with your scaling team to develop a scaling pathway for your innovation. - Reconsider this scaling pathway along the way, as scaling trajectories are volatile. Proud to publish my first journal article in Science and Public Policy! Interested in the tool?
