This Christmas, International Health Partners is focused on one mission: improving child health and creating brighter futures for vulnerable children across the globe. 💫 The four-week campaign, running from November 25th, will highlight the critical health challenges facing children in regions like East Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. A few key facts: 👉 Over 6 million children in Kenya are at risk of soil-transmitted helminths (STH), which cause debilitating health issues and long-term developmental consequences. 👉 In Gaza, the ongoing crisis is compounded by winter temperatures that increase health risks, particularly for children in overcrowded shelters. 👉 In Malawi, access to life-saving cancer treatment for children remains limited, and many children miss their chance at survival due to delayed diagnoses and a lack of resources. At IHP, we know that partnerships with the pharmaceutical and logistics industries, and NGOs, are key to overcoming these challenges. As we launch this campaign, we’re calling on all our partners to help amplify our efforts—together, we can drive sustainable change and reach those most in need.

At our Promoting Healthy Families Knowledge Exchange Summit, Meghan Kenny and Dr. Krysta Andrews presented the main findings from Health Equity Impact Assessments (HEIA) and the Community Engagement Study. Key takeaways from their presentation: The HEIA revealed that many of the community organizations serving children and families were experiencing difficulties connecting with racialized and newcomer families. We heard from racialized and newcomer caregivers that barriers to accessing parenting and mental well-being supports included social needs (e.g., school and neighbourhood safety, food security, etc.), language barriers, stigma, racism and limited awareness of service availability. Word of mouth and community centers were the preferred source of parenting and mental well-being information for racialized and newcomer caregivers. 🏃♂️ Empowering South African Youth Through Physical Activity🏃♀️ In South Africa, the need to enhance physical activity among adolescents is more critical than ever. With rising levels of sedentary behavior, it's essential to develop targeted interventions that encourage our youth to lead active lifestyles. As a professional dedicated to improving health outcomes, I see firsthand the transformative impact of physical activity. Implementing evidence-based programs can reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases and foster lifelong healthy habits. Let's invest in our future by promoting active living and creating supportive environments for our adolescents. Together, we can build a healthier, more vibrant South Africa! #AdolescentHealth #PhysicalActivity #HealthPromotion #PublicHealth #SouthAfrica #YouthWellness #ActiveLiving #NonCommunicableDiseases #CommunityHealth

As we approach the holiday season, we are launching our Christmas Appeal focused on the health and futures of children worldwide. From Kenya to Malawi, the Philippines, and Gaza, millions of children face severe health challenges, and your support can help make a lasting difference. Did you know? 📍 In Gaza, children are not only coping with the immediate effects of war but are also exposed to the harsh winter elements with severely limited medical resources. 📍 In Malawi, where childhood cancer survival rates are tragically low, better access to treatment could save hundreds of young lives. 📍 Kenya faces a major risk with over 6 million children at risk of soil-transmitted helminths (STH), leading to chronic health problems and stunting. These statistics underscore the urgent need for action and partnership. Our four-week appeal, launching next week on November 25th, aims to improve health outcomes and ensure brighter futures for children everywhere. As a key partner in this mission, your support—whether through amplifying our appeal content or continuing your essential work in our collaborations—plays a pivotal role in making a meaningful impact.
