🔍 OK, but how do I "TaRgEt My AdS" to reach the "RiGhT" audience? EvErYoNe is my audience! Not so fast... It’s probably fair to say anyone COULD be your audience, but not EVERYONE is. I mean, even unicorns 🦄 have their crowd, and it’s not everyone! Let's say you’ve created the world’s best vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, guilt-free cookie. 🎉 It’s a masterpiece of culinary wizardry. Naturally, you think, “Hey, EVERYONE will want this!” 🍪 WRONG. ❌ Meet Carl. Carl is a carnivore. Carl’s idea of a balanced diet is a steak in each hand. Carl doesn’t care if your cookie is free of anything except taste. 🥩❌ Or, maybe you've created a new line of high-tech gardening gloves that monitor soil conditions and play Beethoven to your begonias. 🎻🪴 “Everyone” must want these! Again, WRONG. ❌ Meet Urban Apartment Dweller. 🌆 She has exactly one plant, a resilient cactus named Spike. Her gardening gloves are called not-owning-gardening-gloves. The point? Targeting “everyone” means targeting no one. 🎯 Ya gotta get to know your real audience. The ones who actually need, want, and LOVE 😍 what you’re offering. Dig into their preferences, habits, and quirks. Speak directly to them and watch your business thrive. 🌟 Because, let’s face it – Carl isn’t giving up his steak for your cookie, and Urban Apartment Dweller thinks your gardening gloves are hilarious. Find your people, talk to them, and leave “everyone” to their steak and cacti. Start by really getting to know who you’re trying to reach. Create detailed buyer personas. Think about their age, gender, interests, job roles, and even their hobbies. The more specific, the better. (this is so hard for me!) So, who’s your real audience? #CustomAudioSolutions #TargetAudience #Marketing101 #FindYourPeople #SoundSpark

What do bumble bees and marketing have in common? There are a million similarities I could make, and a few puns, too. But instead I want to share something else. For background, I have a patch of dirt in my backyard that's about a foot wide and runs the length of my garage. Every time she goes out, my dog makes a lap of the perimeter of the yard and insists on walking through that patch of dirt (where grass refused to grow). The result? Constant paw prints everywhere. Sometimes dusty. Sometimes muddy. I wanted to put a patio in that part of the yard, but it's not been in the budget, so the dirt remained dirt. Until this year. I got a few packets of seeds, gave them a toss, and hoped for the best. I figured if flowers grew there, my girl would have to change her path. And it worked! I have a beautiful row of colorful zinnias that have been blooming all summer. And not a paw print in sight. But you know what else? I also have a hummingbird who visits every day. And cute little bumble bees who buzz around the flowers and are mesmerizing to watch. Not only did I solve my problem (in a very cheap way!), I also have enjoyed watching all of the visitors the flowers bring, and have gotten to have bouquets for the house. My point? Sometimes things don't go to plan. What you think is the best solution may not work out. Look for alternatives. Even if the route you go now isn't the long-term solution, it may work for the time being. And that's okay. What you do today can help you get where you want to go. Or it may help you find a turn in the path that's even better. Have you ever had a similar experience? PS - isn't this little bumble so cute? It was quite buzzzzy so I tried not to disturb it 😊

Last weekend, I was planting tulips in my father’s garden 🌷 It made me think of how similar planting tulips is to creating brand awareness. So, here's an analogy for you and 'plants' for thought: In autumn, we decide which types of tulips we want to see in our tulip garden next year. The size, the colours, the location. We envision what our tulip garden could look like. Then we plant the tulip bulbs. We nurture the garden and wait patiently for the flowers to blossom. Similarly, in branding, you need to make a plan, 'plant' your brand in your audience's mind, and give it time to grow. Nurture your audience, leads, and clients like you would your tulip garden. The results may not be immediate. But if you don’t plant your bulbs, you won’t see your tulip garden blossom. It’s the season to revisit plans and prepare for Spring. Which tulips do you want in your garden next year? #branding #brandawareness #brandstrategy

Why is there a man sitting, presumably uncomfortable, at his computer in his garden? He's pruning his social media posts. This will all make sense soon, promise. I thought a little bit about The Impact vs. Effort Matrix for social media I posted some time ago and thought - how do I make this... tantalizing? Clearly, florals were the answer. Have you killed a cactus, perhaps? An orchid? If not, then this is still for you. And I'm also jealous. I'm guilty of sadly putting the first two to rest. RIP. Feast your gaze on this lovely bloom of a blog post I've crafted - just for you. Well, all of you. Social media strategy is complex. But just like a garden, having the right tools can save you hours of time, and the right knowledge can ensure that you have the right plants in your garden that make you smile instead of break your heart. In the context of social media, that means having the right social media posts and doing the right activities to make your social media fruitful. It means prioritizing so you're spending the right effort for the most impact. With that - I leave you to the blog. And afterwards, take a look at this post and everything that touches it. What do you think? Which category does the social media post, the blog, the download fall into? Here's to planting more of the right seeds in your social media garden. 🌱 P.S. For the lazy gardeners. There's a worksheet at the end of the blog. Scroll down, get worksheet. Become a pro prioritizer. https://lnkd.in/g6A5VVsu

Do you understand your audience? You can’t just throw seeds into the soil and hope that a vibrant garden will blossom. There are many elements you must consider when it comes to gardening. The same can be said for communications efforts. You can’t just put words to your mission and hope that people will get behind it. You have to find the right audience that is going to resonate with your messaging and be spurred to action. This requires attentive research, initiative, and creativity. Here are four questions to ask to better understand your audience: 🌳 What is my ideal target audience? 🌳 Who am I currently reaching? 🌳 What are the notable characteristics of my target audience? 🌳 What is preventing me from reaching my target audience? Let us know what questions you ask to identify your audience in the comments!
