🚩This afternoon at #GlobalTBO Symposium, we looked at some cutting-edge #research into trajectory-based operations #TBO in Europe with Olivia Nunez, #SESARJU, Peter Alty & Gérard Mavoian (EUROCONTROL), SESAR3 ATC-TBO/SESAR 3 Network Trajectory Based Operations (TBO) Project, addressing: ✅Network performance (planning and strategic execution), including pre-departure and flight planning (FF-ICE), trajectory revision (FF-ICE Release 2 ), improving #network trajectory predictions, airborne time constraints (ATS B2), and trajectory synchronisation. ✅Air traffic control (Tactical execution), use of automation & AI to enhance trajectory predictions, support clearances & separation management, and reduce uncertainty. All the evidence is available to show the feasibility of #TBO and its potential to increase #ATCO productivity, #capacity and reduce #emissions. 👀Key insights from this research… -       Benefits are strongly linked to the rate of ATS-B2 #equipage. -       Latency and channel capacity are influenced by air-ground #communications network performance. -       Validation of the complexity and workload in the cockpit will be key. -       Strong controller and flight crew involvement in research is vital. 🗣️Providing a US perspective, Steve Bradford, Federal Aviation Administration, walked participants through the evolution of TBO from foundational changes to the infrastructure to full dynamic capabilities. He noted the need to implement TBO according to specific needs and characteristics of the operational environment. 🗣️ Amornrat Jirattigalachote, AEROTHAI - Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd, presented a multi-regional #TBO live demonstration that took place between 2021-2023 in four route segments (Between US, Japan, Singapore, Thailand). The key takeaway is that by taking the #trajectory as a common reference, standardising #information exchange, and leveraging the evolution of the connected aircraft, stakeholders can enhance #predictability, decrease #uncertainty, and align strategic and tactical planning. 💬Sven Halle, International Civil Aviation Organization, moderated a lively Q&A session between speakers and the audience covering topics, such as the cost-benefit analysis #CBA of TBO, equipage requirements, application to new entrants, and standards. #TBO #GlobalTBO #AirTrafficManagement #DigitalSky

We're pleased and excited to announce that two Luchtvaart in Transitie subprojects - DASAL and Flying Vision Accelerator - have been given the go-ahead! Through roadmaps and model-based simulations and scenarios, the projects will pool the necessary knowledge for a solid and underpinned foundation for making aviation more sustainable. The project leadership of DASAL lies with NLR with TU Delft | Aerospace Engineering as partner. Flying Vision Accelerator is being led by TU Delft with partners Royal Schiphol Group, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Airbus, and NLR. The grants for both subprojects have been agreed by the Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat and they can now really start. ‘Luchtvaart in Transitie’ is a programme of the Dutch National Growth Fund and European Union Next Generation EU. We all know that Demand-Responsive-Transport (#drt) is gaining momentum; BUT, still, how to build the service from scratch? How to enhance the current service? As DREAM_PACE we prepared a report “Development scenarios for DRT innovative digital and operational approaches” in which we present the stages of #drt scenarios for each of the project´s pilots (Pavia - Oltrepo, Budapest, Osttirol and Split-Dalmatia County) Full text of the report is available at https://lnkd.in/ebYb-U7x Methodologically, we worked in gathering information on the process, then defined the concept of strategy development, composing scenarios and scenario evaluation. Ultimately, one scenario per pilot has been selected or newly composed, which will undergo further refinement through a co-design process involving the LLs’ partners and stakeholders. Exiting news from Brussels.🌟 Yesterday, the SESAR 3 FCA project took part in the AMPLE3 ORBUS training in Brussels. A big thank you to Serhii Yartys, David Martín Baz and Paolo Monaco for delivering such a successful training on the ORBUS tool. ORBUS is an essential part of the SESAR 3 programme and serves as a cornerstone for the architecture and modelling of projects and solutions.
