Imagining tomorrow, today. When people ask me where I get my energy from, what inspires me, what drives me to come to work every day – the answer is always “people”. Whether that’s my ViiV-colleagues, our brilliant partners or the vibrant and wonderfully diverse members of the #HIV community that we serve. I recently visited our facility in Branford, Connecticut and met with 40 of our amazing scientists who are working tirelessly to help us reach our ultimate ambition to #EndHIV once and for all. Their deep understanding of what people living with HIV, or who could benefit from prevention, want and need, helps us focus the direction of our discovery and development. So not only are we researching the next generation of HIV medicines – such as ultra-long-acting treatment and prevention options - but we’re also focusing on the things that matter most. In this video, I talk to just some of the remarkable people working on our pipeline of the future and ask them what impact they hope their work will have. 👉 Find out more about how at ViiV Healthcare #WeWontStop until we #EndTheEpidemic here: https://lnkd.in/eShG-T3t

Happening tomorrow Dec 10th: "Sustainable financing 2030: Accelerating integrated and country-owned HIV responses over the next five years" webinar here 👉🏽: https://lnkd.in/gnA6uaQ3
With only 34% of lower and middle-income countries’ #HIV responses financed domestically (compared to 96% of other health systems costs), more work is needed to define and drive pathways toward increased sustainable financing of HIV #prevention and #treatment by 2030. On December 10, join PATH and colleagues for a dynamic webinar that discusses diverse financing channels for sustaining the #HIV response and features case studies from countries with exciting examples of mixed financing models. A panel of government and donor representatives and advocates will round out the session by sharing practical insights, lessons, and considerations to keep in mind as countries move forward with sustainability planning and implementation. This #WorldAidsDay, we call on each other to unite for a stronger future. Early #HIV diagnosis is a crucial step in the fight against AIDS. Yet, millions remain undiagnosed. By working together we can sustain and accelerate our shared goal of ending the epidemic in our lifetime. Let's commit to: • Community Empowerment: Supporting community-led initiatives to address HIV/AIDS. • Increased Testing: Encouraging regular HIV testing to promote early diagnosis. • Reduced Stigma: Challenging misconceptions and promoting empathy and understanding. • Sustainable Funding: Advocating for continued investment in HIV prevention, treatment, and care. Let's join in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Get tested, get treated, and stay informed. #CollectiveAction #EndAIDS #KnowYourStatus

Something you should know about #hiv! Undetectable = Untransmittable. What does it mean and how well is it understood by our societies today? Undetectable equals Untransmittable (#u=u) means that under effective HIV therapy, the virus cannot be sexually transmitted. A recent multi-country HIV survey across #austria, #greece and #switzerland explored public awareness, understanding and acceptance of U=U. The results clearly showed a limited recognition of U=U in all three countries. This lack of knowledge is often accompanied by HIV-associated stigma, social distancing, and misperceptions about HIV transmission. The survey underlines the remaining importance of effective awareness campaigns and education to spread the U=U message, and helps foster a more informed and supportive public stance towards people living with HIV. Learn more about the survey results during the poster presentation (WEPED341) at #aids2024. #gileademployee
