Re-imagining ‘jhola’ as a teaching learning material. This is how education leaders are creating a world of interest for young children. Follow EduWeave Foundation for more such interesting ideas. #shikshāgraha #everysteptowardseducation
Introducing 'Jhola' – the learning bag in the ‘Gadhbo Bachpan’- carving childhood project! The word 'Jhola' always sparks curiosity about what's inside. Inspired by this, we’ve reimagined the 'Jhola' to ignite the curiosity of our Anganwadi children with engaging teaching and learning materials. Our team member Kiran Pandey carries the 'Jhola' to Anganwadi centers, filled with tools crafted from locally available resources. These materials make learning fun, interactive, and meaningful for children. The curious minds of children are happy to explore and experiment with these unique teaching materials that they don't usually see in their Anganwadis. Project Digital successfully worked with 6 schools in the previous cohorts: Moi University Primary, Chepkoiya Primary, Murgor Primary, Ketiplong Primary, Lelmolok Primary and Lelmokwa Primary schools. We have been able to teach groups of students from each school. This enables us to make more impact through peer-to-peer learning in the respective schools. #projectdigitalimpactfoundation #digitalliteracy #impactstories #sdg4

Linstine Education Consulting recently conducted a transformative training session in Nakuru, empowering Early Years Educators from Kingdom International Premier School with cutting-edge strategies for active learning and inclusivity. In today's dynamic educational landscape, it's crucial for educators to cater to diverse learning styles. With the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) emphasizing active learning, educators are encouraged to implement activities that promote student engagement and participation. At a time when the latest report from Usawa Agenda highlights an alarming increase in the percentage of learners struggling with reading fluency, it's evident that a strong foundation in early years education is essential. Through targeted teacher professional development, we can equip educators with the tools and strategies needed to address these challenges effectively. Let's continue to prioritize foundation learning and invest in the professional growth of our educators to ensure every child receives the quality education they deserve. #ActiveLearning #InclusiveEducation #ProfessionalDevelopment #EarlyYearsEducation

REMEMBERANCE Rediscovering Shikshak Samakhya: A Forgotten Milestone in Teacher Empowerment and Joyful Learning My first #education project, in 1992, involved the process documentation of the Shikshak Samakhya program, a teacher empowerment initiative launched in Madhya Pradesh. This experience provided me with firsthand #insights into the challenges and opportunities of implementing quality education reforms. The program, initiated by the state government with support from UNICEF, was designed to transform the traditional rote-learning methods in primary schools into a more engaging and child-friendly approach, aptly named "Joyful Learning." The project was launched on Teachers’ Day, 5th October 1992, in 186 primary schools in the tribal region of Dhar, which was considered "backward" due to its largely migrant, underprivileged population. At the outset, school attendance was low, and teachers were skeptical of yet another government initiative. However, the program’s success lay in its innovative strategy of involving teachers from the very beginning, allowing them to take ownership of the project. This involvement motivated teachers to embrace a new way of teaching that focused on engaging students through song, dance, games, and the use of locally made teaching aids. The Shikshak Samakhya program not only rejuvenated classrooms but also restored respect for the teaching profession. Teachers rediscovered pride in their work, and their enthusiasm translated into more enjoyable and effective learning experiences for children. The program led to a significant rise in student enrollment, especially among girls and working children, as parents recognized the value and relevance of this new approach to education. By 1995, the program had spread to neighboring districts and gained national attention, inspiring similar initiatives in 10 other Indian states under the broader concept of teacher empowerment. Supported by several United Nations agencies, including UNICEF, UNDP, and UNFPA, the program also influenced educational planning in countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. Documenting this project helped me understand the critical role of empowering #teachers in creating sustainable educational change. The program’s emphasis on fostering a supportive, engaging environment for both teachers and #students demonstrated that #qualityeducation is built on trust, #motivation, and collaboration at the grassroots level. #classroom #LearningJourney #innovation #motivation #management #school #learning #learn #professionaldevelopment #qualityeducation #teachertraining #teamwork #lifelonglearning #development #educationreform #teaching

The transformation is evident as the once-thriving government school now hosts only nine students, while the private "international school" boasts 182 eager learners. #EducationEvolution #ChangingLandscapes 🌱 Reflecting on this shift, a teacher from the private aided school remarks on the surge in private school enrollments over the past decades. With multiple private schools now within a short distance, there's a palpable enthusiasm among parents to secure spots for their children in these institutions. #ParentalChoices #EducationTrends 💡 Kashipura's story mirrors a broader trend of rising private school enrollments, highlighting the changing dynamics of education access and parental preferences. It is true education is a right, but education is also important because it has to enable us to acquire skills. A quality education should enable every child and young person to acquire the skills they need to flourish in the near or distant future. This is why education is seen as the foundation for long-term growth, peace and sustainability in every country. So we must not neglect our children's education, to give them every opportunity for their future. #YADIKO #educationforall #genderequality #sustainableimpact #educationmatters #softwaredevelopment #africandevelopment #EmpowermentThroughEducation #Education
