Following today's debate on the automotive industry and competitiveness in the European Parliament, I strongly believe that we need to focus more on the existing success stories of green growth.    Just last week at the Berlin Global Dialogue many speakers, among them Jennifer Morgan and Emmanuel Macron, reinforced the argument that a turnaround in competitiveness can only be achieved if we focus on innovative approaches.   Alpitronic is a great example for a growing company that is driving European competitiveness. Just as the Draghi report urges: Europe is a leader in #cleantech innovation - let's harness this potential.

I mean it when I say, we really want to offer a way to do things differently and rethink the vehicle from it’s base - how the only parts in touch with the ground are used, controlled, built around. So much of the car can be more efficient,more rational, more comfortable and safer. Even better performing. And while introduction of the technology can be incremental, the advantage will be on those who make the full step from day 1. Just look at the milestones of Lightyear 0, outperforming the Tesla model 3 by 40% of range on literally an identical battery simply by rethinking rhe architecture and aero (and some magic in the wheels at pioneering efficiency). The key is to work hand in hand with the OEMs, Tier1s, to cocreate rather than compete. The sooner this happens, the sooner the industry gets the mojo back.

Today, the European Parliament held a plenary debate on the automotive industry and the need to increase competitiveness in Europe. While the discussion is important, we know that what is often overlooked at the moment is how relevant the European clean tech sector already is, especially in the field of e-mobility. At Alpitronic alone, we have grown from 20 employees in 2018 to more than 1,000 employees today. 🚆 Summary of the first day at InnoTrans 2024 🌍🚉 The opening day of InnoTrans 2024 showcased two dominant trends: digitalization and sustainability. 🔧 Digitalization Highlights: One of the standout innovations was presented by Deutsche Bahn with its cutting-edge multisensor platform. This system leverages advanced 3D analysis technology through a combination of sensors and panoramic cameras, revolutionizing the maintenance and optimization of railway infrastructure. 🔋 Sustainability Innovations: A strong focus on zero-emission technologies was evident throughout the day. Stadler unveiled its RS ZERO regional train, powered by hydrogen and batteries, offering a carbon-neutral solution for regional transport. Siemens also impressed with its high-speed Velaro train, designed for extreme desert conditions as part of a project for the Sahara. 🚄 Diverse Vehicle Showcase: Over 110 vehicles were on display along 3,500 meters of tracks, including high-speed trains, hybrid locomotives, and maintenance vehicles. Noteworthy among them were the Mireo Smart from Siemens, an intelligent regional train, and Alstom’s Coradia Max™, a dual-level regional train, both emphasizing comfort, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology.
