Gleaning involves collecting leftover crops after the main harvest to prevent food waste. _ 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: We harvested 278 kg of vegetables, including potatoes, carrots, peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes, which were donated to Casa de la Esperanza, an NGO that helps feed families in need. Where did all these fresh vegetables go? We donated them to 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙖 𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙖 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙯𝙖, a dedicated NGO right here in Fuenlabrada that helps feed families in need. _ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁: This initiative not only strengthened our team spirit but also allowed us to make a meaningful contribution to our community. As a charity, we undersell ourselves far too often. That's something made painfully clear through our partnership with the students of the I DO Project. So here it goes, their motto for us: We do not ONLY support bees and the environment, we ALSO support humans. Humans that have stories of resilience, perseverance and dedication to doing things right. People who prove to us that sustainable farming and beekeeping is possible while still changing their communities' lives for the better. If you want to hear directly from them, join us: 🐝 Slow food, Slow Beekeeping? What to do when you're the world's biggest earthworm farm, producing thousands of tonnes of vermicast every year & have an ethos that's all about supporting soil health? Enter our Target 1000 Programme 👋 Our mission: to donate 1000 tonnes of nutrient-rich vermicast to NZ community & planting projects 🌳 Vermicast, also known as worm castings, is a powerful organic fertiliser that improves soil health & boosts plant growth. By contributing to community gardens, urban green spaces & various other planting initiatives, we're committed to fostering sustainable & thriving environments. Why is this important? 🌱 Enhances Soil Health: Vermicast enriches the soil with essential nutrients, improves soil structure & increases organic matter. 🌱 Promotes Sustainable Agriculture: Supports sustainable farming practices & reduces the need for chemical fertilisers. 🌱 Strengthens Communities: Empowers local communities to establish more native plantings, to reduce erosion, improve water quality & store carbon. We believe that together, we can make a significant impact. If you're part of a community project or know of a planting initiative that could benefit from our vermicast donation, we want to hear from you! 👉 Feel free to like, share & comment to spread the word! #MyNoke #Target1000 #Sustainability #CommunitySupport #GreenInitiatives

Clean Water for Fafaza, Kanem: A Community Transformed We are proud to announce the completion of a life-changing water project in Fafaza, a remote village in the Kanem region of Chad. This achievement, made possible by the incredible support of our donors on LaunchGood, is a powerful example of how collective action can change lives. The Impact For decades, the 800 residents of Fafaza struggled with limited access to clean water. Women and children walked miles daily to fetch water, often from unsafe sources, while thousands of livestock, essential to the community's livelihood, faced critical shortages. Today, thanks to the funds raised through LaunchGood, Water4Chad has provided a sustainable solution: a modern borehole equipped with a solar-powered pump. This new water source not only ensures clean drinking water for the residents but also sustains their livestock, securing food, health, and economic stability for the entire village. Why It Matters Health: Clean water is drastically reducing waterborne diseases. Education: Children now have more time to focus on school instead of spending hours fetching water. Empowerment: Women can redirect their energy toward economic and community activities. Livelihoods: Reliable water access safeguards the health and productivity of thousands of livestock, a key source of income and sustenance. A Heartfelt Thank You This success belongs to everyone who supported this project. Your donations through LaunchGood made this life-saving initiative possible. You’ve given Fafaza more than clean water—you’ve given them hope for a brighter future. Let’s Do More While we celebrate this milestone, we know there are countless other communities in Chad still in need. At Water4Chad, we are committed to expanding our impact, one village at a time. 💧 Join us in transforming lives. Whether by donating, sharing our mission, or partnering with us, you can help bring clean water to those who need it most. 🌍 Together, we can create lasting change. Follow Water4Chad for more updates, and let’s build a future where every drop counts. #Water4Chad #CleanWater #Sustainability #CommunityImpact #GlobalHealth #launchgood

St Vincent de Paul Society welcomes the release of the Not-for-profit Sector Development Blueprint which outlines three groups of strategies that will enhance Australia’s vital, community-focused organisations. The Blueprint is the most comprehensive forward plan for Australia’s Not-for-profit Sector ever developed. The Society took an active part in shaping of this important document. -- Did you know that 1-in-10 working Australians is employed by a charity? The charity workforce is comparable in size to that of the mining, manufacturing, agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors combined. Australia’s NFP Sector, 60,000 of which are charities, is the ‘glue’ that helps to keep our communities together and enhances our national wellbeing. -- The challenge now is for everyone, from parliamentarians, people working in the sector, both paid and voluntary, and the wider community to help make local communities stronger as we increasingly rely on a more caring and supportive society. Please like and share if you want to see a flourishing and sustainable not-for-profit sector. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gQE9ST9w

Farming is defined by cycles of life and death, the ebb and flow of the natural world. Each season has its end. But just like organic farming practices can have positive impacts for generations to come, in our lives there are ways we can plan to continue making a positive impact on this world long after we leave. August is Make-A-Will month, a poignant reminder to put our affairs in order. By incorporating Planned Giving into your will you can: 🌳 Leave a significant legacy - support a cause you care about, like organic farming, for generations to come. 🍃 Have flexibility - designate your gift to a specific area of our mission, or leave it unrestricted to be applied as needed. 🍀 Get tax benefits - we recommend talking to a financial advisor about how Planned Giving can work for you. Learn more about the advantages and ways you can leave a charitable contribution as part of your estate planning - visit our new Planned Giving page https://lnkd.in/gwRs_vDr And share this post if you know someone who cares about sustainable agriculture and wants to make a lasting impact. #RootedInLegacy #MakeAWillMonth #PlannedGiving
