Following MIN3's series last week on the re-launch of our website and the approach that we took to developing our brand identity (including name, visual language, logo, copy etc.), this week we will start to focus on the products that we have made available on the website. Initially, we focus on "the brAIn" - an AI AMA (ask me anything) tool that we created in order for prospective clients to better get to know our business, the things that we believe about emerging technology (such as crypto and AI), how companies interested in that technology should navigate the sometimes murky global regulatory landscape, etc. Over the course of the week, we will discuss the trade-offs we considered when approaching high-level design, and then how we went about building the brAIn. I spoke to a few people who weren't getting web3 x AI. Then, I shared what I learned from Illia and Erik at ETH Denver, and it clicked. Illia Polosukhin (NEAR Protocol, co-author of the paper that gave us transformers and ChatGPT) and Erik Voorhees (Morpheus AI, ShapeShift) shared about the fusion of blockchain's decentralization with AI's capabilities and how it could redefine permissionless innovation (link to video in first comment). NEAR began with a vision for AI, launched as a layer 1 blockchain protocol, and is now at the forefront to integrate these two technologies together. The key? 3 critical factors: 1.) Community curated datasets - so people understand where the data came from 2.) Open source AI models - the models represent what data is put in. That decision making is opaque and is affected by ideology (like Google's Gemini only creating images of historical US presidents as minorities). 3.) Monetize open source models using blockchain/crypto - to incentivize more model options and reward creators who put all that hard work in for a public good This conversation goes beyond technology. It's about reshaping power dynamics in the digital age, especially when it comes to data. The answer isn't to regulate giants like Google. It's to create viable, decentralized alternatives. The blockchain world is teaching the AI world how to be permissionless. Decentralization allows intelligence to be permissionless. What is Web3? Is GenAI just a fad? Does crypto still have a future? These were some of the questions I had about these emerging technologies. Recently, I had the opportunity to complete the module ‘Sustainable Web3, Generative AI, and the Metaverse’, taught by Prof. David LEE Kuo Chuen 李国权 and Prof. Zhiguo Wang, FRM, CFtP. It has been an eye-opener, offering a comprehensive dive into these transformative technologies and their potential impact. What truly stood out was how the module seamlessly combined theoretical concepts with real-world applications. From understanding blockchain intricacies to exploring AI ethics, this course helped us develop strategic insights into the business implications and the future roles of these innovations in our daily lives. Thank you, Profs, for sparking my interest in this field. And a big shoutout to my group members; it was a pleasure working together and sharpening our perspectives. IIllia Polosukhin, one of the key creators in AI, wants to build the world’s largest open-source language model using blockchain. This model would be almost 4 times bigger than the best open-source model available today, Meta’s Llama 3.1. Goal: Create a massive, 1.4 trillion-parameter language model open to everyone. Why blockchain: It will make it possible to fund and track who contributes computer power, rewarding them transparently. Why decentralize?: Instead of one big company owning it, this model would be built and owned by the community. Challenges ahead: Technical issues, like slow network speeds and coordination, will need solutions. Had a great time talking during the Harvard Blockchain conference about DePIN for AI compute and representing Network3. Amazing spirit of Harvard University and bunch of innovative companies working on the intersection of AI and blockchain layers. Huge thanks to out partner IoTeX and especially Aaron Basi, we are excited for the future together and looking forward to empower the industry together. As well, our founder Rock Zhang is a huge influencer and aspires the industry to recognize the future of DePin. Thank you Zoie Zhang for all the help, advice and deep conversations. During those 2 days, we had a daily 2000 nodes growth in our ecosystem. As for now, we started our series A, happy to chat and explain what we do in the AI field. Thanks to Michael Heinrich, Tardo L and Hetu! It was an awesome time hearing Chris Dixon from a16z crypto and many more speakers. Some takeaways: -blockchain have not experienced a "ChatGPT effect" and more products which will change the industry are only coming. -the product which actually will make sense without the pitch is the one which will win -infrastructure is the key, and it is the power of the industry -AI and blockchain has an endless amount of perspectives and ways to grow Exciting times

Pretty cool report from Foresight Ventures on Crypto x AI Breaks down the different components of companies very easily digestible (btw Foresight guys, if someone is reading this: you have to include GenLayer 😜 ) The "general" centralized AI market is supposed to grow to $13 trillion by 2030 - I believe that this will definitely spill over to decentralized AI as well. Just because it has so many obvious pros compared to centralized AI: - Decentralize control - Introduce data privacy - Copyright issues - Transparency and so many more! & IMO if you just look at the age of the market, it is actually quite mature For most projects there is already a clear distinction between Infra Layer, Model Layer and Application Layer with quite a few use cases! According to the categorization in this report, GenLayer would come closest to Model Layer - as we are enabling new dApps to be built on our Intelligent Blockchain. We are the first ones to introduce AI-powered Smart Contracts that harness the real-time data of the internet, can process natural language and reason in a complex manner. What for? Well, you can build totally new dApps: Automatically resolving prediction markets, truly autonomous DAOs or parametric insurances on GenLayer. Totally free of human interaction (if you want - otherwise you can give partial control to the Intelligent Contracts) It's a massive opportunity and it's already starting to take shape.
