Reading Barcelona’s council Cultural Rights Plan, even though it takes some time to measure the impact of the proposals, I’ve appreciated the emphasis on promoting Cultural mediation in museums. If we don’t teach and help to appreciate art to the future artists and public we’ll maintain the actual difficulties to reach wider audiences. https://lnkd.in/dqMC-5v9 #pladretsculturals #diputacióbarcelona #culturalrightsplan #barcelonacouncil

In this blog, W2SF talks about seeing flamenco in museums, typically associated with static visual arts, historical artifacts, and quiet contemplation. Flamenco is a dynamic, loud, and highly emotive performance art, and this combination of contrasting environments, from the habitual serenity of museums to the intense and energetic performance of flamenco provides a striking dissimilarity in atmosphere. In a departure from conventional venues, seeing flamenco in a museum offers a multi-sensory experience that enhances the appreciation of both the visual and performing arts. Whereas museums showcase historical and cultural artifacts, flamenco is a contemporary expression of cultural heritage. Seeing flamenco in a museum context highlights the ongoing evolution of cultural traditions, making the past and present resonate together. This fusion of environments creates a rich, layered experience, offering a new perspective on both the museum's collection and the flamenco performance. https://lnkd.in/drcHrQTc

SPINEA Blog - Vibration. The transfer of energy, information and the elimination of sources of vibration The integration of the TwinSpin® cycloidal reduction high precision gearbox from the SPINEA into a wide range of specific applications in opera halls is the result of the extensive theoretical and practical experience of the highly qualified experts employed by the company, which has also been satisfying the highly specified needs of customers around the world for years. A perfect artistic impression is achieved by artistic performance, but also by perfect lighting and acoustic effects. Effects always enhance the artistic impression and make the overall performance more attractive. Today we are witnessing and users of technically advanced art halls and theatres, whose modern renovations have created opportunities to integrate modern technologies creating lighting and sound effects of unprecedented possibilities. Light and sound have analogous reflective properties that fold and unfold as required for the desired effects. The folding, unfolding and amplification of sound has been known from Roman amphitheatres and Gothic cathedrals. Such works of art have reflective properties in static form . They were formed by a static spatial construction. New possibilities in acoustics allow for the rearrangement of sound reflecting blocks that can concentrate, filter, or disperse sound into the surroundings. High-precision reduction gearboxes from SPINEA® have also been successfully used in the renovation of opera halls, e.g. in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Lima, Peru. The choice of reducers for these applications by the implementers was justified by the quiet operation when changing the position of the acoustic block, the sufficient stiffness, which is important for large acoustic blocks, and also the large gear ratio, which allowed the use of small and quiet motors. The precision of operation and the backlash-free gearing arrangement, which clearly defines the position of the acoustic block in space, was also an advantage. In connection with this demand, the company implemented a specific gearbox selection and testing service to analyse the vibration frequencies as a function of the input speed. With this frequency analysis it is possible to prevent graded vibrations and sounds in the resonance region, for artistic, industrial and scientific applications. The integration of the TwinSpin® cycloidal reduction gearbox into a wide range of specific applications in opera halls is the result of the extensive theoretical and practical experience of the highly qualified experts employed by the company, which has also been satisfying the highly specified needs of customers around the world for years. https://lnkd.in/eFq5FSmf #spinea #micromech #blog #twinspin #gearbox #gearboxes

🌴 Garden Rhapsody 🌴 – Light Show: Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay | November 2023 | The clouds rumbled as flashes of lightning lit up the dark, gloomy skies. Rain trickled down while people's conversations travelled throughout the air as I lay flat on wooden platforms, looking up at numerous towering structures shaped like funnels with slender twigs spread out like crowns. People’s chatters then quietened when the orchestrated classical music majestically blared throughout, with the Supertrees sparkling masses of vivid lighting. As the experience played out, the colourful programmed light patterns matched the music’s soundtrack seasons, moods and tempos that seamlessly transitioned throughout the songs. What captured me in this attraction was how these assorted styles of musical pieces were interpreted into a ballet of digital light forms and formations, from twinkling to flashing, to encourage locals and tourists to connect with nature even during its after-hours. 🎶 By visiting this significant icon, I witnessed the way that art, sound and lighting can be harnessed through digital technology to elicit multi-sensory experiences. Doing so allowed me to develop ideas for the AI Exhibition project I am a part of this year. 💡 This attraction is free for all, with the music changing every night and full of different spectacular shows of choreographed lighting. It is an experience I recommend anyone to check out when you're in Singapore! 👀 ---------------------------------------------------- #GardensbytheBay #Lightshow #Supertrees

🔸️Lessons from the market: OPERA CAMPI - world's best hemp 🔸️ Thanks to Alberto Ziveri who was present at our online talks during my lesson "Textile Lab" at IED Istituto Europeo di Design. 🕍🌟Multifunctional cultural center Reduta - not only a place of concerts and balls, but also a witness to many important historical events.🕍🌟 During the period of the first Czechoslovak Republic, several political gatherings and social gatherings were held here, making the Redoubt an important point in the social life of the city. It is interesting that the building's architecture reflects not only the cultural boom of the time, but also the transition between different architectural styles.🌟 On the facade, we can see a rich combination of ornaments and stylistic elements, from Art Nouveau to Baroque ornaments, which makes it a unique architectural gem. In the interior, there is a large concert hall with excellent acoustics, where, in addition to classical concerts of the Slovak Philharmonic, contemporary music genres are also played. One interesting thing about Reduta is that when it was built, it also served as the first cinema in Bratislava. A cinema was established in Reduta, which was one of the first in the city and was among the most modern cinemas of the time.🌟 Visitors could thus enjoy not only concerts and social events, but also watch film news. Today, this function no longer exists in the building, but the historic cinema in Reduta was a symbol of how the building became a real center of cultural life in Bratislava at the beginning of the 20th century. . . . . . #RedutaBratislava #SlovakPhilharmonic #HistoricalBuilding #CulturalHeritage #BratislavaLandmarks #ConcertHall #SlovakHistory
