We're excited to announce the publication of our digital quantitative study on the Myasthenia Gravis Core Examination for telemedicine evaluations in Frontiers in Neurology! (link: https://lnkd.in/gqnTpiRU) Myasthenia gravis impairs the communication between nerves and muscles, leading to debilitating muscle weakness and fatigue. Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is often considered a good prototype of an autoimmune disease. This first round of validation for the Care Constitution Corp.'s digital health AI-powered software (link: https://lnkd.in/gAiB8K4w) was made possible thanks to the collaborative efforts of the MGnet network (NIH U54 NS115054). This network brings together renowned neurologists from George Washington University, Harvard Medical Center, Duke University, Yale University, University of Chicago, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

New insights from the RESCUE-ICAS registry, presented at #SVIN2024 by Dr. Sami Al Kasab, reveal that rescue stenting after mechanical thrombectomy in patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke due to intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) improves reperfusion and 90-day functional independence rates, but also increases procedural complications. This study sheds light on the challenges of treating ICAS-LVO, a condition affecting 10-30% of LVO stroke patients, and highlights the need for tailored approaches in neurointervention. The research keeps coming. CND Life Sciences announces that a retrospective chart review of 97 patients published in the December 18, 2024, issue of Frontiers in Neurology shows that the results of the Syn-One Test effected a change in the clinical care of 78% of the patients. The publication demonstrated the clinical utility of skin biopsy testing in the diagnosis and evaluation of synucleinopathies. Earlier today, Paola Zaratin (SSC Co-chair PROMS) had the privilege of moderating a distinguished panel discussion during the Platinum Session at the #BrainInnovationDays2024. She was joined by eminent experts in neurology, including Astri Arnesen (President of European Federation of Neurological Associations) Pavel Balabanov from the European Medicines Agency, Dimitrios Georgiopoulos from Merck, and Gianni FRANCO from the from the Belgian francophone Parkinson’s Association. During her introduction, Paola Zaratin established the context by elucidating the complementary role of Patient Experience Data (PED) in enhancing current clinical outcomes, encompassing clinical trials and broader assessments to 𝐮𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠. She outlined three key themes for discussion: Opportunities and Challenges, Best Practices, and Implementation. This structured approach facilitated a focused examination of how PED can be effectively integrated into neurology 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬. Key questions posed by the panelists included the significance of collecting PED to ensure inclusive patient representation, the diverse perspectives on opportunities and challenges from clinical and industry viewpoints, and the evolution of PED within regulatory and health technology assessment processes. The panel underscored the paramount importance of collaboration among patients, healthcare professionals, industry stakeholders, regulators, and policymakers to enhance the credibility and utilization of PED. "Although the acute urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic has been in the world’s rearview mirror for some time, the virus continues to affect a portion people who contracted it, even two years after their initial recovery. A new paper published in The Lancet Regional Health Western Pacific details a handful of brain abnormalities identified on the MRI scans of people who had moderate to severe cases of COVID.
