"Action springs not from thought but from a readiness for responsibility." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer (born February 4, 1906, Poland; died April 9, 1945, Flossenburg concentration camp, Germany) What do I take from this quote? - we each have responsibilities. - we must be ready to accept those responsibilities. - action must not merely think but also act. - action may be uncomfortable or challenging. - right action may require a lot. This quote must be considered in the context of the man who said it. Bonhoeffer exemplified significant action exerted from an understanding of responsibility driven by contemplative thought.
