I speak in workplaces around the UK to create awareness on the signs and symptoms of problem gambling and help to prevent gambling related harm, proud speaker with Musgrove and Ball

My thoughts on the new Gambling commission survey and reporting today: Please consider this as a hot take and one based on lived experience and initial findings. I haven’t had a chance to form a solid opinion. - As with academia and data, things can often be interpreted several ways. 🤔 - I think the narrative of what would constitute a ‘problem gambler’ remains higher than initially thought previously regarding of findings. (Trust me, I wouldn’t have admitted even if anonymously due to shame and being warped in my own addiction ) The one think I take from it, is the findings that several reported: - Lying to family members 😳 - Reduction in spending on EVERYDAY items (not big ticket items, actual cost of living)💰 🔥 - Feeling isolated 😢 - Suicide Ideology 💔 And I think that’s personally what gets me the most. I ticked all those boxes. That’s why I do what I do alongside Musgrove and Ball. To break down stigmas, to ensure we are preventing gambling harm, to ensure people are not alone in addiction. That we can ensure people are informed. And that we can help those that show courage in admittance. I’m pretty sure everyone is all in agreement with this from all sides. And to those out there that also ticked the box, you are certainly not alone ❤️
