As we conclude our series for Older Americans Month, we continue to reflect on the insights shared by CCRC residents from our focus group. Our final discussion was centered around what residents look for in a healthy aging program: accessibility, quality nurse coaches, individualized care, and a track record of success - all essential elements that foster independence, meaningful connections, and support the well-being of aging adults. Throughout the month, we have seen how residents' priorities not only align with HealthyLifetime, but also align with the Older Americans Month theme, #PoweredbyConnection. This theme underscores the profound impact of meaningful relationships and social connections on residents’ health and independence, echoing the priorities expressed by residents themselves through our CCRC focus group. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gYMDwPeE #OlderAmericansMonth #HealthyAging #HealthyLiving #SeniorCare #AginginPlace

Today marks the United Nations' International Day of Older Persons, with this year's theme: "Ageing with Dignity: The Importance of Strengthening Care and Support Systems for Older Persons Worldwide." This theme underscores the urgent need to address the caregiver shortage and to honor their vital contributions. It's essential that we protect both caregivers and those they care for, promoting care that respects the dignity of older adults and empowering them to make decisions about their care and quality of life. At HCAOA, we advocate for home care providers, ensuring they have the resources and support to enhance caregiver well-being. Together, we can help our older persons age in place in the comfort of their own homes. #InternationalDayofOlderPersons #HomeCare #AgingWithDignity #HCAOA

Millions of older adults are unable to afford the care needed to age well in their own homes. Ideas proposed today by VP Kamala Harris could help older adults—and their caregivers—ensure they receive the care they need in the setting they want. This is especially important for the millions of low- and middle-income older adults who cannot afford long-term care on their own, but currently don't qualify for government help. I recently learned about #AgeFriendlyHealthSystems. 💡Did you know, according to IHI and the US Census Bureau, the US population aged 65+ years is expected to nearly double over the next 30 years, from 43.1 million in 2012 to an estimated 83.7 million in 2050.” ✅Hearing this validates how important it will be to incorporate care givers in care plans for aging adults. Connecting with them and their support systems, as well as identifying and solutioning when caregiver support is lacking or nonexistent, will be huge factors in delivering patient center care to the aging population. #AgeFriendlyHealthSystems are on the rise.

Caregiving or taking care of the elderly improves our self-knowledge and our identity. It develops potential and renews our self-esteem. It rewards us in ways we cannot see however providing the basis for our self-development. It also enhances our quality of being humane as humanity also plays a crucial role in taking care of the elderly. Most people do as it is the right thing to do. Caring should not only be due to humanity however it should come from our heart. After all, we are all bound to complete the cycle of life and face the old age, we’d all want someone to care for us. Caring for the elderly has in itself a reward and pride as Tia Walker says ‘To care for those who cared for us is one of the highest honour’. #JourneyWith#Careunlimited#forhappierSeniorYears#Alwaystakecareofelders# Visit : care.unlimited@outlook.com anjaliinvestments.com
