International Women’s Day has been observed since the early 1900s. Significantly in 1908, a group of women (15,000 of them ) marched through New York City demanding shorter hours at work, better pay and voting rights; women’s oppression and inequality were spurring women to become more vocal and active in campaigning for change and since February 28th 1909 after the first National Woman’s Day (NWD), women have continued to celebrate evolving from NED to IWD (International Women’s Day) thanks to Clara Zetkin who in 1910 proposed that every year in every country, there should be a celebration on the same day for women to press for their demands. This year 2024, our demand is “Inspire Inclusion” Everyone can inspire inclusion. Here are some ways: 1. Individually, we can choose to share knowledge, support and encouragement irrespective of gender 2. Organizations can; - recruit, retain and develop diverse talent - support women and girls into leadership, decision making, business and STEM - designing and building infrastructures meeting the needs of women and girls - helping women and girls make informed decisions about their health - elevating women and girl’s participation and achievements in sports, creative arts and tech A special shout out to SYNLAB Nigeria for practicing and inspiring women and girl’s inclusion Happy International Women’s Day 🎉🎉🎉 #investinwomen #inspireinclusion #internationalwomensday2024

🌟 Happy International Women's Day 2024! 🌟 Women's rights organisations are at the forefront of fighting inequality. Organisations lead by women, for women, lead the fight against poverty and inequality but receive minimal support. It is therefore crucial that we amplify their work. At IOM Belgium and Luxembourg, we proudly collaborate with women-led organisations committed to making a difference. From combating human trafficking to supporting unaccompanied migrant children, championing women's rights, fostering diaspora engagement, and promoting female entrepreneurship, these organisations tackle a diverse range of critical issues. 🌈 In honour of #IWD2024, we asked two of our partner organisations a pivotal question: "How important is it for you, as a woman, to do work that positively impacts other (vulnerable) women?" Find out their answers in the reel! #Internationalwomensday #InvestinWomen SIEMPRE Networking for Latin American Women

As we unite to celebrate International Women’s Day, we are reminded of the progress made in advancing the rights and opportunities of women and girls around the world. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that there is still much work to be done, especially when it comes to addressing and rectifying the marginalized opportunities that persist for women and girls in various sectors. Today, we extend an earnest call to organizations that are committed to creating lasting change and fostering an environment where every woman and girl can thrive. It is time for us to stand together and be the change we want to see in the world. Ask Versus How: versus.africa/demo #VersusAfrica #IWD2024 #HappyInternationalWomensDay

South African Women’s Day on the 9th of August was established in remembrance of the historic 1956 women’s march in Pretoria 68 years ago. The historic march saw more than 20,000 women from all walks of life march to the Union Buildings to protest against apartheid, including the pass laws, in spite of the real threat of arrest and violence. Throughout the month of August the country acknowledges and celebrates women and their achievements as active agents of transformation and change. This year the country also celebrates 30 years of the Women’s Charter, which was established to drive gender equality. As the month coincides with South Africa’s commemoration of 30 Years of Freedom and Democracy, the theme this year is: “Celebrating 30 years of Democracy towards Women’s Development”. During Women’s month we celebrate women as active agents of change and social transformation and the South African government will be using this month to advance the ‘Women’s Charter for Accelerated Development’ that was formulated in 2021. It aims to accelerate economic reforms to unlock women’s economic progress. Statistics released last year revealed that in South Africa, women hold only 23% of tech employment positions which translates to 56 000 out of 236 000 ICT roles (https://bit.ly/4dCXcBZ), which is alarmingly low. Hosi Technologies champions women in the ICT sector and we consider it a strategic imperative to facilitate the growth and development not only of our female employees, but in the broader community as well. During the month of August we will be profiling women in Hosi and the invaluable contributions they have made to the business. Hosi Technologies wishes all South Africans a Happy Women’s Day 2024! #hositechnologies #womeninit #womenintechnology #womensday2024 #southafrica #africa #womenempowerment #genderequality
