Sent myself a link so I could read "Perceptions of High-Quality-Materials" first thing this AM. As someone who has experienced both the role of an educator undergoing these changes and a leader supporting them, I'm always intrigued by the different approaches to facilitating critical instructional shifts. I actually will be reflecting on some of these exact things this month at the annual NCSM Leadership in Mathematics Education conference. I recommend this research to educators embarking in curriculum adoptions. It underscores the importance of strengthening team coherence and alignment during the selection process. It calls us to ask, "How do we define high-quality? What features deem a resource high-quality?" These very concerning findings made us all responsible for supporting our children, teachers and all educational systems and working together systematically to find the causes and work on effective improvement plans.
