Free seminar alert: "How to effectively engage actors in transitions for sustainable impact?" A Symposium on Action Research in Food Systems Next October 15th, along with Flanders Business School - FBS and Sytra - UCLouvain, we are inviting you to reflect on the use of system, target and transformation knowledge in participative approach that is more and more considered as fundamental in transition. Some of our key questions : 🤓 What are your best practices in system, target and transformation knowledge use and production? What are the necessary conditions to progress, in a participative way, on those different knowledges? 👥 Which actors should be involved in such processes in terms of representation, personality, differences in worldviews, level of responsibility, etc.? Should only forerunners be involved or a larger set of stakeholders? 🤸♀️ What ambitions can be set and what processes can be used with groups of heterogenous composition? How can decisions be made? 👂 How to make sure that all voices are heard, also of those not present? 🧐 What roles can/should the researchers play in these processes in terms of convening and facilitation? 🤲 How to build trust and a sense of community? The world's population is expected to grow to 9 billion people by 2050 and arising from this the increased need for water and food production will have to be met - one of the most pressing issues of our time. How to tackle this matter as well as prevent food waste collaboratively and how to attract the professionals, who will be needed, will be discussed at the Wissenschaftstag of Europäische Metropolregion Nürnberg on July 19th in Hof: Innovations, which are already applied regionally in different parts of the world, could be part of a global solution strategy if internationalized. Between June 11th and 14th, the 2024 Annual Conference of the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation (CASC) took place, the conference theme was “Sustaining Shared Futures: The Cooperative Path”. The conference began with a Practice Day, with the aim of exploring the cooperative scene in the Montreal region. Between the 12th and 14th of June, numerous discussions were held around the theme “Sustaining Shared Futures – The Cooperative Path”, with panels, round tables and meetings with sector experts. I had the opportunity to present the first chapter of my doctoral thesis, entitled "Sustainability indicators and agri-food systems: contributions from a systematic literature review to cooperatives", a systematic literature review whose main objective was to identify which sustainability indicators are applied to agri-food systems, especially in cooperatives around the world. It was a great opportunity to learn and exchange information about sustainability and cooperativism. Thank you very much.
