Success Story: Increasing School Safety with Noxx Safe School Bag Hooks at Gilroy Catholic College We recently installed our Safe Noxx Bag Hooks at Gilroy Catholic College to address concerns about cluttered walkways and blocked emergency exits. Thanks to the rugged one-piece design, our hooks ensure long-term durability and safety for secondary school students. By mounting the hooks on a variety of surfaces, we provided an effective solution to keep bags off the floor and improve overall safety and organisation at the school. More than 59 percent of main instructional buildings were built prior to 2000. So much has changed in safer school design since then. As schools renovate existing buildings, they can improve the level of safety and security on campus by updating their locking hardware. In his latest blog for Building Design + Construction, Ken Cook, Director of National School Safety and Advocacy for Allegion, states visual indication trims that are backwards compatible not only support school safety but can also be cost-efficient for retrofits. As progress on the Safe Routes to School project continues, you may notice changes to areas around the designated School Zone too. Where School Zone signs do not include a posted speed limit, these are considered School Areas. These areas have lower risk and consider school type, road classification, road proximity to school, location of signalized intersections, and other deciding variables. School Zone sign installations will be fully complete by September 3rd. Elm tree trimming will take place after the August 31 tree trimming ban is lifted. #CityMJ #SafetyFirst

One of the most essential and effective measures of controlling fire spread in any building! When you have seen the results of a properly fitted fire door from both sides of the door following a fire, you know first hand the level of protection and integrity from the products of combustion that a fire door provides. Fit them, audit them and maintain them!
Fire Door Safety Week – A False Sense of Safety Research by the British Woodworking Federation shows that people often have a greater sense of safety in buildings like schools and hospitals. Regardless of where you are, if you spot a problem with a fire door, report it. Find out more: https://ow.ly/TFfo50Tt0FL #FDSW24

It’s #NationalPlaygroundSafetyWeek! Did you know that there are designated fall zones at every playground and each zone must have padding installed with the proper thickness? Details like this are important for creating safe and certified outdoor learning environments, like we did for Primrose Schools of Cupertino. If you are looking to build out or modernize a playground space, reach out to us at info@hgbuilderscorp.com for more information. #construction #siliconvalleyconstruction #generalcontracting #playgroundsafety

It’s great to open windows and balcony doors and let the fresh air in. But please remember that a small child’s head is heavy compared to their body. That means they can easily topple, plus, they have no real understanding of danger. So, • Keep low furniture away from open windows so that children can’t climb up and fall out – even on the ground floor • It’s a good idea to install window catches (to limit how far they can open) and locks if you can • If you opt for a lock keep the keys somewhere you can find them in case there’s a fire and you need to get out For more top tips to keep children safe this summer visit: https://lnkd.in/eswSTpGc #ChildSafety #childaccidentpreventiontrust
