One key leadership trait I have learned and imbibed over many years is “Equip the right people and let them do their thing.” This is my version of the famous “Hire smart people and get out of their way” quote. Lucky Ekanem, a trusted team member, is a living testament to the veracity of this quote. During my official trip to Nigeria a few months ago, Lucky and his team, fresh from their successful Informal Sector Roundtable event, banded together to shoot an Employee Spotlight video of me at the Jobberman Nigeria office. All I had to do was show up, and Lucky and the team (Henry Egbe, Tobi Dada, Damilola Abati) gave me all the necessary direction. They set the scene, shot the video, and oversaw production collaboratively, showcasing the power of teamwork. This makes a successful team: having the right people with the right resources doing the right things. As you can see in his repost of the post below, he has already written a great story behind the video, beating me to it. 🙂 Lucky Ekanem, I want to express my gratitude for your outstanding work. You've made me, Jobberman Nigeria, and all The African Talent Company (TATC) Brands look great and have set a high standard for our team. 🙌 #Teamwork #Leadership #Creativity #Excellence

Here’s an interesting story behind this video. During Gabriel Gab-Umoden ‘s recent visit to our Nigeria office, we needed to shoot an important video. Unfortunately, our star video specialist, Tobi Dada was unable to join us as she was working from home and feeling unwell. With only Henry Egbe Damilola Abati and myself in the office, we decided to proceed with the shoot. Henry and I quickly set up with a friend's camera and got to work. As the Head of Design, my role usually focuses on pre-production planning, so getting hands-on with production was a refreshing change and a valuable experience. Of course, we later had Tobi work her magic with the editing, and she did a fantastic job. Special shout out to Bukola Sanusi-Okikiolu who drafted a custom questionnaire based on Gab’s personality and position within the organisation, adding and extra layer of depth to the interview. Key Takeaway - For design leads or managers, it's essential to understand the roles and responsibilities of each team member. You might need to step into their shoes at some point. Similarly, team members should be prepared to fill in for their leaders when necessary. Always be ready. Camera Setup: * Camera - Sony α7IV * Lens - Sigma 85mm f1.8 * Tripod Light Setup: * Key light - LED light mounted on a C-stand, tilted at an angle above and in front of the subject * Rim light - LED light approximately 2 feet behind the subject * Fill light - Natural light Audio Setup: * Rode SmartLav with 3.5mm jack wired microphone * Rode VC1 3.5mm TRS Microphone Extension Cable for Cameras

Ghana’s Potential: A Call for the Right Leadership “Ghana is a blessed country—rich in resources, culture, and potential. But we often fail to realize these blessings because the wrong people are in key positions, steering the ship in the wrong direction,” says Claudia Lomo, CEO of Glitz Africa. Claudia passionately believes that leadership should come with maturity, character, and resilience. “If I’ve built these qualities and I’m fit for the control room, why shouldn’t I fight to serve my country?” she asked. For Claudia, standing on the sidelines isn’t an option in a country where leadership often lacks vision and accountability. She refuses to be a spectator while Ghana struggles to harness its potential. Her message is clear: Ghana needs the right people in higher political positions—leaders who are prepared, principled, and driven to make a difference. What qualities do you think are essential for leaders to unlock Ghana’s full potential? #Leadership #GhanaRising #ServiceToNation #GlitzAfrica #BuildingTheFuture
