We had a fantastic Careers Made In Chesterfield session at Whittington Green School yesterday. Students were given a range of group tasks related to town flooding, from the perspective of three job sectors (Health, Science and Care - Construction and the Built Environment - Engineering and Manufacturing). Students learnt about many key job roles, and demonstrated their employability skills to a room full of employers. Thanks to everyone who supported: Faye Thompson and Cathy Scholes, Environment Agency; Tim Pearson, Met Office; Matthew Malkin, Construction Skills Hub; Nathan Robertson and Samara Lemon, University of Derby; David Beet, United Cast Bar Group; Rachael Hill, Fortem Solutions; Sue Woollett, Stepnell; Andrew Foster, O'Brien Contractors Ltd. The Careers Made in Chesterfield programme is funded by Chesterfield Borough Council as part of its Skills Action Plan and delivered in schools by DEBP. #careersmadeinchesterfield #lovechesterfield #employability
